Anyone who uses this as a PC as an input, can tell me if Windows identifies it at all when it's set to a different source?

Can you use a power adapter of 5V/2A with this? I don't think I have any 5V/1A adapters at home anymore.

Yes you can use any 5V to USB power supply be it 1A, 2A or 3A. This switch will also work without power if two HDMI sources are ON and giving it some power. However if it be OFF when only one or none HDMI sources are active.

What is the Remote distance?

Hi friend, Please use the remote within 5m/16.4ft and ensure that the remote is facing the HDMI 2.1 switch with an angle below 30 degrees. Hope it helps.

Does this support earc?

Yes, it does. Thankfully, eARC is usually lumped into the HDMI 2.1 spec.
