Bristle Blocks Farm Set (67 Pieces)

I have been looking for some normal Stickle Bricks for a while but apparently, they just don't sell them any more. The Bristle Blocks farm set looks good on paper as it includes figurines and model animals along with a car and barn but is a bit of a mixed bag.Firstly, there is the question of packaging. The figurines and models are jammed into a custom shape plastic holder which makes it real difficult to pop out. Now I'm pretty nimble with my fingers (give me a BlackBerry and I'll happily tap out an email in no time) but the farm set took me a good 5 minutes of prising out the blighters whilst my little Honey sat there with an eager "are we done yet dad?" expression.Then there's the fact that you don't get a container like with other similar products so once it's unpacked, you'll need a box or similar to put all the pieces in.However, the main problem is that the Bristle Blocks pieces are just cheap quality and not fit for purpose. Most of the blocks simply don't stick together and the set we got had bent door frames so the barn couldn't even be put up properly. Try sticking the doors to the frame and within minutes they would have fallen off. It was the same with most of the other pieces too unless you jammed them together and held them which defeats the purpose of sticking bricks.There is quite a bit of flex to the blocks and you get the impression that it just won't last. This is a shame because the rest of the set is good; the figurines and models are solid, decent quality and my little one liked playing with them far more than the actual bricks which were ignored once it was clear nothing would stick.If you're after something like Stickle Bricks, these are not them unless you want bricks that don't actually stick. Do yourself and your little one a favour and stick with Lego.
