Can this be used as a dry vacuum?

Will this work well on a rough surface (indoor pool deck) or will a rough surface wear out the roller brushes?

It works very well on my hardwood floors and tile bathroom floors, but the rollers are covered in short pile like fabric. I doubt that it would hold up well on rough surfaces.
