This is quite a long story. If I read it she doesn't get a second book.This version story isn't as annoying as some. "Take the bird, but don't touch the cage" so what does he do?In this version the firebird is too hot to touch so he has no choice.The pictures are good and colourful and the story is well told.She has a lot of books and this one has been requested at least once a week since I bought it.The prince's first horse gets eaten by a wolf (picture of horse lying down with red neck) and the wizard at the end is a bit scary too.

this book is perfect. The firebird is such a lovely ballet and it is nice to have a story to read to little ballet dancers. My daughter wanted this book so that she could work out the characters in the story as she is making a tiny stage with the ballet on for her cousin for Christmas :)

A lovely little hardback book with great illustrations. I will be using this as a teaching aid so may purchase a larger version too so that the pictures are easily seen but a perfect size to slip in your bag. The story is a charming fairy tale about a Prince called Ivan who goes in search of the Firebird, the most beautiful bird in the World.

The illustrations of this already marvellous fairytale are captivating, just what early readers need. The story is presented is ideally sized chapters, and as with all the books in this Usborne Series it is the perfect size for small hands.

Great story. My 4 year old loves it, and enjoys the challenge of reading (being read) a chapter book. Nice illustrations, fun adventure.
