Dear customer, this Montessori Toddler Busy Board needs two AAA batteries to operate, the batteries are not included, please purchase by yourself.

Q: How to turn on and off? Remove the batteries?

No, unfortunately these boxes do not have a master switch. However, once all switches are off there will be no battery drain.

Q: Details state its for 1+ yet the box says 3+. Which is it?

My then 14 month old grandson was playing with a smaller version of this one and now he is 19 months and plays with this one and the smaller version everyday. If the child likes lights and switches this is perfect for any age.

Q: Two lights stay lit no matter what buttons I push. How did I shut it off?

I had one that did that and it eventually burnt out. My hubby said it must've stuck underneath and unless you take it apart they're going to stay on. The one switch with the metal stick was the one that stayed on and never turned off; then the stick/switch part broke off.
