When the other pins lose their shape you have to toss them! These are like very thick and don’t bend. I have thick hair and wear a bun at work these work so much better than the ones from Sally’s that come in the brown tin. Even though they are thick they don’t hurt or feel uncomfortable

Very thick, not color I thought I ordered
I thought I ordered dark ones, but received plain metal. They are VERY thick wire, at least twice the diameter of "regular" hairpins and heavy. They are not suitable for intricate styles.

Hairpins?
These look like staples. Not hair pins.

The best hairpins for buns
Amish hairpins are the best for keeping my bun put all day (medium-long straight hair). Very comfortable and they do not snag, cut, or damage hair or scalp. Look up a video or tutorial online if you are unsure how to use them. The key is to catch a little bit of hair at the edge of your bun first in an outward direction (sliding away from bun), then reverse direction and turn inward toward your bun, this time picking up some hair next to scalp, and letting slide in at an upward angle. Just a few pins and it holds tight!
