Wooden Clown Marionette Puppet Toys: String Marionette Toys Marionette Pull String Puppet Doll for ( Random Style )

I am absolutely charmed by these WOOD PUPPET DOLL TOYS. They are brightly painted, super cute, and I just love them. They remind me of the rustic, artistic, handmade toys and the whirly gigs that people used to make for their kids to play with and to decorate their yards. The paint colors, patterns, and overall style of these are similar to the painted barns and furniture of the Pennsylvania Dutch. When you pull it the string at the bottom of one of these wooden dolls, they lift their arms and legs. When I looked to see what category they were in, they had them in with the puppets and marionettes on Amazon's product pages. That seems appropriate since you pull a string to get them to move, similar to a Marionette. But these are controlled from the bottom, not the top. Kids will like these. Adults may like them more. They can take a little abuse, but they're probably not for kids who like to play roughly with their toys. I may use them for Christmas ornaments or to put on packages. They would make great stocking stuffers; they also make cute decorations, and not just at Christmas. I have them hanging next to my bed right now because I just want to be able to look at them for a while because I like them so much. They make me smile. They have gone up from the $12.00 price they were listed at when I ordered them. That made the four of them about $3.00 each. I think they're worth more than that, by quite a bit. If you were to find these in an upscale gift or novelty shop, I could easily see them being priced at $12 a piece. They look handmade. But they probably came from China. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised either way. These are so cute; I just love them.

These remind me of some German Marionettes I used to play with at a friend's house. They are nicely painted, have nice detail, and work as expected. My child loves them and we tell stories using these. They are cute and colorful and would be good for all sorts of occasions. Might even be Christmas ornaments at some point. It's a fun little item I never knew I wanted but enjoy them a lot and am glad I got them!
