Can we use the same vent which is used with the old water heater tank. Outside roof vent cover can be used same existing?

This is a non-condensing unit. The condensing units take the extra heat out of the exhaust and convert it to hot water which makes the exhaust much cooler and allows you to use cheaper exhaust materials. This one requires double wall stainless exhaust chimney.

I just purchased a new house that has two of these units and it takes about a minute for water to heat, can that be sped up?

Hi Jay, Understand that you have cold water in your pipes that has to be pushed through to your open faucet and discharged before the hot water can get to you. Your Rinnai instantly starts heating your water when you open the faucet but there is all that cold water in the way. The closer your faucet is to the unit the sooner you get the hot water. If you are concerned about water waste, use the cold water to start scrubbing your sink or tub and then rinse with the hot water when it purges the cold sitting there. Your Rinnai saves you a ton of money by being on demand so be patient. Brush you teeth in the cold so no waste also. It is a great unit! John and Joanne

Can this unit be installed by a homeowner? Are there any restrictions for warranty coverage if the unit is installed by the homeowner?

I was told the gas company has to do it. I live in NC.

Will this item work with propane?

you would have to change the jets -read the specs-you should be able to order it for either natural gas or propane

Replaced my older Rinnai model, but the outlet line was in a different location

Like it and would have given a 5 STAR but by manufacturing it with the outlet line 2" one way and 1" fwd made the installation a real problem !! Had to solder 6- 90 degree elbows and an insert piece to make it work. Wish they would keep the inlet & outlet hoses in the same spot on a newer model..

Replaced a 12 year old Paloma with the RL75e

Knowing what I know about these kinds of things, like water pumps, it is good to have a backup so that when it does go down you can be up and running in a couple of hours.Well, my older Paloma was getting a little long in the tooth even though it still worked flawlessly, I decided to replace it when the replacement timeframe was good.The new unit was super easy to install as all the mechanical infrastructure was already in place.My first shower after the installation was a huge disappointment.I have to have the faucet 3/4 hot and even at that, it is lukewarm. My older Paloma was 50% hot and cold. Plus the GPM rating on the Paloma was a full gallon per minute less.Since I purchased it in 2016 (installed on 11/2022) it is way past the return window.As a result, I think I'm going to reinstall my old unit and put this unit in my shop.Specs: The run from the heater to the shower is 15' away and clean well water.

An Excellent Product

Bought this item in 2017. Since then heater has been absolutely flawless. Replaced a Bosch tankless that was absolutely junk from the beginning. Waited this long to write a review so you can be confident this is a long lasting quality product. Installation instructions are very European so sometimes terminology is different and slightly challenging to understand.
