The key to buying a bluetooth speaker that you're going to use whilst in the shower is that you need to get it a little bit more powerful in terms of volume than you think you need so that you can hear it over the sound of the shower. 3 watts (this speaker) is an absolute minimum really and from my perspective when having a shower this morning, when the water was raining down on my head, I could still hear everything clearly. If you're looking for a "party" in the shower, you might want something with a bit more power.As far as being "water proof" goes, this is rated at IPX5 which is the lower of the two shower proof ratings (IPX6 being the higher rates, and then IPX7 and above being able to be submerged). This means that it should be perfectly fine in your shower as long as you don't have it directly in the path of the water from a power shower. For virtually all cases, on the side of the bath or on a shelf in the shower, this should be absolutely fine. When I tested it in the shower, I had no problems and the fine plastic mesh that covers the speaker meant that water didn't get in and affect the volume (a speaker that I had about a year ago had an open grill so when water went in, it went really quiet).Don't submerge this speaker as it isn't rated for that!Sound quality is pretty reasonable. There is a little distortion at the highest volume which again is where the lower power 3 watts lets it down a little bit. Considering that in the shower you're ears are full of water anyway, you're never exactly going to have an audiophile experience, but it was perfectly acceptable at all levels, bass, mid and high. Where it really comes into its own is out and about. There is a very strong rubber wrist strap, if that's how you'd like to carry it. A clamp would have been a nice addition so you could clip it to your rucksack when hiking, but if you have a clamp, you can always loop it through the wrist strap.This is a rugged little speaker - it looks and feels tough. I tried the drop test from a metre above the ground, whilst the speaker was playing (ok, I accidentally dropped it when putting taking my camera off the sideboard) and whilst there was an immediate dip in sound volume for a split second, it carried on playing and hasn't affected its volume. This was onto a carpeted floor.All in, and factoring in the cost of this which is only £15.99 at the time of review, this is a great all weather, outdoor, rugged little speaker with reasonably good sound - as long as you don't need to turn it up to maximum.

Best speaker we have ever had, the sound is outstanding, I now prefer listening to music through this than anything!

The sturdy rubberised casing gives the speaker a very robust look, and while i haven't chucked it around it seems like it could survive a fall or two.The speaker connects simply and easily to your smart phone or tablet via Bluetooth, and as yet has not shown any signs of loosing connection or any skipping. The sound quality is surprisingly clear, and loud, for such a small speaker. Ideal for camping or taking along to any outdoor activities.It features simply and easy to use controls and charges off a standard USB charger.Finally I would suggest this is one of the better examples I have seen and is great value for money.

This is an outstanding Bluetooth speaker! It is the best I have come across for general purpose use. It was very quick and easy to pair the speaker to me mobile phone and I did this by switching it on and making sure my phone was in Bluetooth mode. About a minute later the speaker made a bleep sound and I was able to listen to music from my iPhone.What was really surprising was the volume that this tiny speaker was able to bellow out, and the sound clarity was maintained at higher volume levels. It drowned out conversation in my kitchen when turned up to maximum volume!The sound is multidirectional as well. Most small speakers work better when pointed towards you, but this speaker seems to literally fill the space with sound and it doesn't matter where the speaker is pointing. Amazing!There is a nice solid base and a balanced vocal sound, so it is excellent for general use from pop to classical.The controls are pretty standard with four buttons on the top of the speaker. These are simple and intuitive to use. You really don't need the instruction leaflet, but this is reassuringly comprehensive and well-written in case you need to refer to it.There are two sockets - one is for charging the speaker via a cable provided and the other is for an auxiliary cable in case you idon'thave Bluetooth on the device you are using. this cable is also provided.On the base of the speaker is a screw fitting which allows you to attach it to a tripod or similar fixing.The speaker is splash proof which means that you can listen to it in the shower, on on a beach without fear of it being damaged.Overall a really great product!I received this product from the supplier in exchange for an unbiased and objective review
