Great book on Chinese Medicine
This is a great book, I enjoy reading it a lot. For anyone looking for background, explanations on how Chinese medicine works. I think that a lot of people nowadays are frustrated about Western modern "scientific" approaches to medicine, approaches that offer no solutions to many illnesses. If you realize that Western doctors of many centuries ago alsohad a deep understanding of 5 elements theory, you realize that we probably had lost some precious knowledge onthe way... Chinese scripts offer us the logic we miss in our upbringing.

spirituality - this book is a great start along with the Ling Shu for technical details ...
This book covers the basics of not just TCM but existence. For all those interested in daoism, medicine, spirituality - this book is a great start along with the Ling Shu for technical details and moxabustion. The author does a good job in making the translation understandable to the average Western reader who may not already know about certain principles such 3 yin and 3 yang even though it is not necessary. But definitely one of the better translations of the SuWen Neijing

Common sense in context
This book was recommended by a colleague in London who spent some time studying acupuncture in China. It makes the whole Eastern approach to medicine clearer and can be applied to Westerners on most levels.I love it as it has story telling quality which makes interesting reading.Recommend to all who are in the medical, paramedical, care deeply for your own health as well as that of others.

A good read, not a textbook.
I decided to study acupuncture but like many people had very limited exposure to the traditional chinese ethos that is the foundation for the practise.I was lent this book by my acupuncturist who claimed that it was too much writing for her to pluck information from and to an extent, i would agree with her but i also think that she grossly underestimated the relevence of the material. While reading the book it felt more like a novel. Maybe even a children's novel. It is a dense story with a few practical applications thrown in but that is not to say that is isn't without it's uses.Chinese acupuncture is about much more than the needling techniques. It is almost religious. You need to adopt a mindset and a lifestyle. This book allows you to connect to the foundations behind this practise. It is the bible of acupuncture, the origins, and well worth the read.

Beautiful appreciation of the human body
Absolute beauty this piece of work is! The intellectual nature of the workings of our body, spirit and mind is so underrated and taken for granted. However this book carefully details the working of nature alongside our bodies and the deeper aspects of maintaining optimal health - including our emotional wellbeingThis text is changing my life :-) - have not concluded title yet just felt the need to review now.

Anmerkungen!?
