Huntington Gardens in California is one of my favorite places to visit. I used to love to go when I lived there, and it is still as wondrous. The San Marino Ranch was purchased in 1903 by Henry Huntington. His superintendent oversaw the botanical gardens. Originally over 600 acres, now 207 acres are in the park and including the former mansion, now an art gallery, and library. There are over a dozen gardens, including this desert garden, as well as a lily pond garden, camellia garden, Australian garden, Japanese Garden, Jungle Garden, Herb Garden, Palm Garden, Rose Garden, Shakespeare Garden, Subtropical Garden, Chinese Garden, and Children's Garden.
