Q: Can you run this on 12v dc car? With or without/o a resister?

I have hooked up other LED strips and lights. LED lights require 12v dc. Just keep the + & - polarity correct when wiring up the LEDs. You should be fine, unless your car battery's output is too high or low for LEDS.

Q: will these work to make something glow that needs a black light?

Yes. It's a UV Light Strip. Or a "black light" to make things glow; like uranium glass or a '70's poster with neon colors, etc.

Q: Any tips on how to get them to stick a bit more permanently? I've used strips like these before and the adhesive never lasts long.

I had a little issue with one strip and re-secured it with Alien Tape, which I also bought on Amazon. That stuff is terrific!

Q: How well does this work with plants?

These don’t self adhere at all and since they smell heavily if acetone i wouldn’t use them on live plants.
