Do they look nice without the candles ?

Looks nice w/o candles, however at night with candles, beautiful!

Does glass separate from base of candle holder?

There's no glass in these. They are simply metal cylinders with a punched design. You can put a candle or a lamp or a string of lights in them, but they're not going to catch and contain much melting wax so don't count on them to do that. I put faux candles in them to scatter the flickering light in a pretty way.

Do these fit yankee candles?

I’m not sure. I don’t have that type candle. Would need to measure. May work on smaller yankee candle…..
