I've been buying these for years, and I've noticed that they no longer sell them in a specific size. I used to buy size 9, although I wear an 8.5 shoe. Two reasons for that are that first, I don't like tight shoes and have a C width at the ball of the foot, so by going up to 8.5 in slip on shoes such as Easy Spirit, the width will be comfortable. When it comes to the BB socks, however, it depends on whether I will be washing them in hot water or not. In our household, BTW, we generally wash clothes (including socks) in tap cold water, then dry on "permanent press" setting, which isn't all that hot. One must remember that many people who have foot/leg problems (I'm not one of them) want to allow for swelling. People in assisted living facilities often have someone else doing the laundry and the laundry is usually more interested in getting things clean than worrying about shrinkage, so they use hot water and fairly high heat settings on the dryer as well. These are cotton, and yes, they will shrink under those conditions. If you do your own laundry, you have a choice of whether you want a loose fit, or want to size down, or just try shrinking them the first time before wearing, and hope for a good fit. I have noticed that these socks, if imported from Turkey, tend to be larger than the same brand from certain other sources. Best advice is I can give for those new to this brand is to buy a set of three, and experiment with one pair at a time to see what works best for your situation. Good news is that they are soft and there are no pesky, rough seams to irritate sensitive skin. If you also buy Doc Ortho socks, which are designed for extra cushioning and have a loose weave, you may find as I did that putting BB socks on first and then pulling the looser socks over them will keep your feel a bit warmer without having to switch to merino wool or something along those lines. If you find that your winter socks are a bit scratchy, again, the BB socks will protect the most sensitive parts of your feet. (I do have sensitive skin, but I've had that problem since childhood. I saw Elvis Presley on the Ed Sullivan show, which was his first live performance on national TV, so we're really, really talking long, long ago.)

Never ever thought I'd be wearing the same socks that I wore growing up: Buster Brown socks. But, here I am, wearing them again because I've developed a contact allergy to elastic/nylon during the heat of the summer from other socks. So, 100% cotton, no nylon, elastic, etc., which means no rash. Yay! Are the socks comfy in my hiking boots? Yes. Do the tops get stretched out like they did when I was a kid? Not as much as I remember! LOLSo, overall, I am very satisfied with the Buster Brown socks and when they wear out, I most likely will purchase them again.

I've had these socks for awhile now and guess what??? THEY DIDN'T SHRINK DOWN TO A KIDS SIZE!!! YAY! I've got a drawer full of socks that shrank and I can't even pull them on or they stretch out so ridiculously you can see through them. I don't have big or wide feet so I can't understand the problem. These are a good weight for my sneakers for casual walking- not too thick. They're soft and the color is still navy blue after multiple washings. Love them!The only con I have is one of them came with a tiny pinhole at the ankle and I still haven't gotten around to stitching it up, so check your socks well.

I get so irritated with socks that work their way down into my shoes as I walk. These, so far, are staying put! Being able to buy a larger size, which I have never seen in a store, is probably a major factor. I needed these for my saddle oxfords ☺️

So they run BIG!! I wear a size 6 shoe and they are big. I washed them but have not tried them out yet since the weather is sandal weather right now. I'm not sure I'll like them tho. They just have too much material in the foot area.

I wear size 9 shoes. XL socks were huge! I had to return them. The quality and weight were exactly what I had hoped for.

I have been wearing these socks for many years, so happy to find pastels for spring wear. They are cotton, very light weight and soft. I just love them. I like to wear them slouched, reminiscent of my teen years in the 50's. Rolled up jeans , Buster Browns.and penny loafers.

I love these socks. They are lightweight, which is perfect for summer. They have NO elastic, spandex or latex. I'm allergic to all of those things. They are very soft. Since they are 100% cotton, they are not overly stretchy, but I don't know why I'd need them to stretch. I wear them with my walking shoes and can walk several miles and they don't slide down. Thank you Buster Brown for making these socks!
