You know "snoopy nosey others" 🙄 then they tell someone-who tells someone tho a smidge different🙄and so on and so on and so on.. The Rumors actually.Madeline King- is an Author with 1 book. Working on 2nd with bad writers block, already spent most of the advance-uh oh. Rented an apt to have quite to write although she not writing. She may be going to do something terrible because she has a deadline looming, and may take sensitive secret for her story.Husband Trevor is an airline pilot with an independent airline and he supports her writing.Son Brick going out with 1 of best friend Grace's twin daughters Allegra, tho it's doesn't look like a fantastic relationship.Grace Pancik- Socialite, overwhelming fixated on redesigning her backyard Gardenmaking it a paradise🌹.Husband- Eddie, realtor know in Nantucket called 'fast Eddie' likes to live the HighLife although secretly he is in Huge debt Big time. .Looking for a way to find away to make a bit of side $ money.They have Twin daughters tweens Hope and Allegra. Both totally different in every way. Fascinating. They look alike tho. Allegra is dating Grace and Eddie's son Bricktho Allegra seem to have other idea's, she also isn't very nice, blows off school,vs Hope studies and has always liked Brick.Adding to the mix-Benton Coe - Master Gardner who is going to 'help' Grace redesign her back yard garden to a paradise.I think reading this we can ALL see a bit of how Rumors start when reading. Everyone has a new car come over😂😅😂 It's happened to me, probably to youand you too. I don't look out my windows or talk to neighbors about anything but out furkids.🐾🐾 It always my husband and myself and our furchild🐾🐶 out in the neighborhood walking. We all know each other thru our 🐾pups😂😅😂.Not quite the same, big yards lots to do, too busy.Funny to read📚Writing is incredibly fabulous, it draws you into an area with characters that are real.I lived out on Long Island and the feel reading is incredible.Enjoying the fabulousness of this Author.

This book is definitely a girl book with the gossiping, romance, and life struggles. There was a lot going on in this book which kept my interest. Some of what went on was jaw dropping. Elin did a wonderful job keeping the story moving along from one disaster to another which again, kept my interest. This book was definitely not like any romance I have read before. Now it is on to the next Elin Hilderbrand book!

I did enjoy it as a summer read. Not my favorite if Elin's books, but not bad at all. It was entertaining, but I did not find myself craving to read it and finish. As always with Elin, descriptions of the scenery was fantastic and per usual I wanted to get on Nuntucket myself.

This time we become friends with a charming group of characters who expose to us their deepest secrets.There is Madeline King, an author who is under a deadline to produce her next book. Having accepted and already spent a portion of a hefty advance, she rents an apartment where she can have total quiet while she works on her newest tome. Madeline is best friends with Grace Pancik, an island socialite who is obsessed with her garden.Madeline is married to Trevor Llewelyn, an airline pilot who flies for a small independent airline. Grace is married to Ed Pancik, a notorious and well-known Nantucket realtor. He’s known as Fast Eddie for his ability to close a deal but he is secretly in debt up to his eyebrows. Then there is Benton Coe, master gardener, who entices Grace into an affair.Rounding out the players are Allegra and Hope Pancik, Eddie and Grace’s twin daughters. Although they look remarkably alike, they are totally different. Allegra is a would-be model who blows off her classes. She is dating Brick Llewelyn, son of Madeline and Trevor. Allegra’s sister Hope is the quiet one, the studious one, the good girl to Allegra’s bad girl. Hope has had a crush on Brick but he doesn’t see her that way.Throughout the character driven story, the reader is treated to the ins and outs, the ups and downs, and all the gossip that fills surrounds this island paradise. A fulfilling novel told in the inimitable Hilderbrand style where the reader is let in on the latest gossip going around town.A charming, easy to read book that will draw you in and make you believe that you are part of the Nantucket scene and all the scandals that simmer below the surface.

The good part about this author is shes good and keeps the story moving and it’s escapist fiction, which is my favorite.The bad part is the female characters were so impossible to like. Graces big problem is getting her garden featured in a snobby publication meanwhile cheating on her husband and being a terrible parent. The Madeline character was an airhead. The rest of the women were mean and backstabbers. The same handful of places to go out for dinner or drinks and along with the theme of the whole town in everyone’s biz made me wonder why anyone would want to live in a place like this.
