They don't have a usb jack but you can attach them to the heaphone out jack or if you have a sound card with RCA jacks that will work too.

How do these compare to jbl control one ?

I'm still impressed the lows could be a lttile lower though. Crisp and clear.

How are the speakers connected to each other? Can I install longer wires?

Just speaker wire. Yes, you can extend it.
