it picks up spots no problem. the only thing that could be confusing is when you shine down onto the floor/carpet/whathaveyou.. it appears as though theres a dark spot/spot in the middle and a bigger purple circle around it, but its not what youre looking for, its just part of the flashlight itself. kinda tricks ya. idk if I worded that correctly, but if you buy this, youll see. its not bad, tho. I kinda look within the bigger circle around the dark purple spot and see what I need there.

Works just fine. Be aware that it will light up anything "organic" or... what? I'm not sure... not just urine, so you can get some "false positives." For instance, it lit up where I spilled lemon juice, fibers in paper towels, places all over the walls where I had sprayed cleaners, etc. But if you're on the hunt for a specific stain, you shouldn't have much trouble distinguishing. Simple to use, three batteries, and feels fine in the hand-- not too light or heavy. Don't stare into the light because UV can do damage to your eyes.I received this free or discounted for review.

The 51 LED UV light has already proved itself at our house. The blue light picks up the clutter and crumbs on the floor, making it easier to find that missing earring back or eye contact. Shining it on the couch and chairs, in low light, we could see evidence of dried fluids that needed to be cleaned, be they animal or human. This is a wonderfully effective stain detecting light. My husband travels a lot for work. At first, he didn't want to take this on one of his trips, but I convinced him last week. He said he used it was was pretty grossed out by what he found. He as able to detect stains that were not visible to the naked eye. He wants to take this with him everywhere now.The light itself is very well made and a sturdy build. It takes three AA batteries (not included). The batteries are easy to put in and the light works great!I would definitely recommend this light to anyone with pets or to anyone who travels and spends a lot of time in hotels. I was a little scared to turn this on. What horrors await that could not previously be seen? And yes ... I found some. But thanks to this flashlight I was able to clean up previously invisible spots that were causing a stink.Usage is as easy as any flashlight. Just pop the batteries in and get pee hunting!
