Q: Currently use litter genie for waste. i have three cats. would this be more of a hassle to use? i scoop litter three or more times a day.

You can use it with the litter genie, but it’s a waste the litter genie is expensive and basically serve the same purpose! Just a large capacity, but makes a huge mess getting her cat litter into the litter genie. It ends up with it all over the floor.! Complaining about getting too much litter into the container or not doing it properly you’re supposed to collect the waste in the sifter part sift out the litter and then let the rest of the cat waste fall into the container. Otherwise you’re wasting way too much cat litter and going through the bags too quickly. That’s a user problem, this product works terrific is very convenient and then you just throw it into a larger garbage bag or if you want to waste your money on a genie in the liners for that be my guest mind sitting in the corner collecting dust if anyone wants it .

Q: do the bags block the odor at all once they're closed up?

I honestly can’t remember. I haven’t used them for a long time. I can buy bags at the dollar store a lot cheaper and they fit my scoop just fine. 50 for $1.00. With these I use one bag a day and take them straight out to the big dumpster and yes if I don’t you can get a smell. I also changed my kitty litter and now buy it through the Kittypoo club and basically have no smell from it. Sorry I couldn’t really answer your question.
