... books in this series have not been near as good as the earlier books
The last 3-4 books in this series have not been near as good as the earlier books. It's almost as if the last 3-4 were written by another author. I really enjoyed these books when i first read them. But now, it seems as if they are all over the place. The characters never seem to stay on focus and the story line really doesn't go anywhere. Yet i keep reading them hoping for a good read like the beginning books in the series. I read this and thought, well that didn't tell me anything! No real plot or good story. Bring back the writing of the earlier books in the series!!

and while this is not the worst it still makes me long for the MJD of ...
Betsy books are one of my guilty pleasures. I keep buying them, and while this is not the worst it still makes me long for the MJD of Unwed and Unappreciated. There is way too much dialogue in this book, which has been the case for most of the Undead books. It leaves the reader feeling like all of the conversations are there to fill pages rather than contribute to the story. Moreover, there are serious continuity issues that cannot be attributed to the time warp. In this book Betsy mentions twice that she inherited Scratch from Marjorie, when she actually inherited it from Monique in the second book. Come on! These aren't my characters, so why do I care more about them than the author?People who love to read love books and the characters in them. Look at Betsy! The fictional vampire queen reads and watches "Gone With the Wind" over and over because she loves the story, the characters, and the themes! Obviously the writer understands people who love to read if she gives Betsy this same trait. Why then, are we left with confusing dialogue (too many members of the ensemble talking at once with no quotes attributed to specific individuals OR context clues!), a serious lack of continuity, and entire pages of previous books repeated word for word?It is so frustrating. Readers deserve better, and this formally fabulous writer needs a new editor-someone who has read each book and knows the timelines and cast.

Even when the time warp crap came along
So I read the first Undead book as was hooked. Even when the time warp crap came along, I still kept reading even though I was as confused as main character. I read the reviews and still purchased this book anyways. It does have a lot of "fillers" if that's what you want to call it. Just random rambling. I skipped through it. And the time warp junk could've been left out of the series completely and something else written. I was a bit disappointed with the book.

Buying Time
I hate when writers do this they put out a book just to buy some time to until they can really come up with next story. This book just goes over previous books nothing really major happens yea her father is alive and the AntiChrist Laura dumps hell on her to takeover, Jessica's kids pop in an out being different ages but hell she takes you around the world an back all the while talking to herself through the whole damn book.I wasted 10.00 dollars don't do the same prime it.

Ok,but definitely not necessary...3 stars
The story was just.ok, simply because it didn't cover enough story. It seemed to be just a set up for the next book, which is just unnecessary. At this point , in the series, there should just be books with complete stories, not set ups. It was funny and as far as the.writing goes, there were confusing parts, run one forever and a lot of dialogue that you don't know who's speaking. It was just ok for me.

I haven't read her since I fond out she's going to skin her vampire husband Sinclair. Got this one in hopes she'd changed the future. Nope. She's a witty writer who keeps a plot running smoothly and makes her character's real. Obviously too real since I'm boycotting her for killing one of them in a thousand or so years.

I used to love this series but it seems to be going off the track just a little more each book. I wish she would stay with a particular realm. I don't realy like the zombie Mark and the "real" Mark. Betsy just isn't as likeable any more. Not sure if I want to keep on with this series.

Bummed
This book was good, but I had come to expect more from Ms. Davidson. This book seemed rushed, like she couldn't wait to finish the series so she could move on. The book left me wanting more, and just a little flat. Sorry, but it's just not in the epic category of the rest of the series.

Need something else
The series is becoming samey hoping now for the next few books to be more exciting. I can see the antichrist becoming a huge future problem. I have read these books from the beginning for years now. Unfortunately I think it's becoming stale and flat and all very same as happened before.

Really? 13 pages of bedroom action??? If I want that I'll buy 50 shades of grey!!!
As my review headline. If I really wanted 13 pages detailing a sex scene, I'd buy a different book! No matter how hot she wants us to believe the vampire king is, this kind of thing has no place in a book like this. I'm no prude but come on MaryJanice, that's too much!!
