An absolut piece of junk
I was never able to open the battery compartment. I tried everything! Even soft solvents to loose screws but no results. Sounds silly, I know, but believe me: it was like the compartment was completely sealed! Desperate, I tried harder ways even knowing that the Cleanguard might be broken (I didn't mind at that stage of frustration)... Everything got broken but the compartment NEVER OPEN! Not even broke. This never happened to me before. It was surreal. I would never ask it again. I would not be sure if there was something wrong with my unit or something wrong with the fabrication process.

Great Product for Night Guards and Mouth Guards!
I grind my teeth so I have to wear a night guard every night. Every morning when I wake up I pop the night guard in this, press the button and it does a great job sterilizing it for me. (I also routinely clean my night guard while brushing my teeth before bed)I have bought two of these and both worked great. The first one lasted around 3 years with daily use. It started having trouble turning on even with fresh batteries so I decided to replace it. The second one is still going strong.I highly recommend this is you use a night guard or mouth guard.PS I did not have any trouble getting the battery cover off on either units I ordered. I also leave the battery cover off after initially removing it. Makes replacing the batteries much easier.

The only downsize was the screw you needed to put in the batteries was very difficult to loosen.

How does one open the battery compartment?
I had a similar experience to the prior reviewer. Instead of a sliding cover to an obvious battery compartment, there is a very secure philips-head screw keeping what appears to be the battery compartment cover in place, on the INSIDE of the sanitizer, rather than the outside. I have various sets of screwdrivers of all kinds and sizes, and I was not able to open the cover. The way it is sealed, it doesn't even look like it is supposed to be opened, so I'm at a loss as to how one is supposed to operate the product. I have never seen a battery-operated appliance designed in this way, and without being able to open the battery compartment, the product is completely useless.
