Nice quality, great brand, looks nice, and good value!
I bought this to have in my bedroom to supplement my other air purifier in my living room which is the Winix C545. That one has been great for 3 years of constant use now with zero problems so I thought I’d stick with Winix for my second purifier. I like the look and size of this new one, perfect for a bedroom. Others weren’t lying about how loud it can be (when compared to the C545, it is quite a bit louder, but think about it- it’s a smaller purifier doing the work of a larger purifier). I keep it on low and it’s fine. High setting is definitely loud, but would be great for people who like to sleep with white noise. It’s not loud enough for me to deduct stars from my review. The air indicator ring light is really nice looking and it does change colors based on air quality quickly (candle smoke, fragrance spray, etc, will all make the air quality light change colors and prompt the fan speed to increase if on auto. It works!) I mostly got this one to help with dog smell and so far I can tell a difference with noticeably fresher smelling air when I come home.

Terrific purifier
We’ve had this on a dresser in our room for about 3 or 4 years now, running continuously. For most of the time, I’ve had it on the “automatic” setting, which means it generally runs at medium speed, turning up to faster when it senses particulates in the air, then returning to medium. It works VERY well, and has reduced my allergies a great deal. The noise level is quite comfortable for us, but we don’t mind a soft fan sound. There are three manually set regular speeds, low, medium and high. The low speed is quite quiet but still a little louder than the night mode speed. If I switch it to night mode, it falls to whisper quiet, hardly noticeable. We use a genuine Winix filter in it, and replace it about every 9 months or so. Replacement is super easy.It has no weird sounds like another reviewer has mentioned, but runs smoothly and efficiently. We’re completely satisfied and would buy this same one again for certain.

I have the
I have the bigger version in the great room and it works great so I decided to buy this for my bedroom because it gets dusty in two days. It seems to work well but it gets really loud at times when running on high. That’s why I gave it 4 stars. I leave it on automatic so sometimes at night it gets louder when I’m sleeping. Unlike the bigger one I have in the great room which has a sensor that makes it go into night mode. This one has night mode but you have to manually set it. Otherwise it works great, my dust is less than ever and I can breathe better so it is worth it.

Quiet and Effective
I purchased this to reduce dust and particles in my bedroom. I was sneezing and coughing quite a bit and it was disrupting my sleep. This unit is quiet-ish with the noise similar to a white noise wind sound...not too loud but no louder than the separate sound machine I was already using. There is no "mechanical" noise from the machine. After about a week, I noticed that I am no longer sneezing or coughing in my bedroom and dust accumulation is minimal compared to before. My sleep is much better as well. My grandson was recently in my room and told me that the room smelled "fresh"...I am very happy with the purchase. I'm tracking how long the filter lasts. and am sure that it's a highly individualized duration. Hopefully, finding filter replacements and the cost will be reasonable.

Works.
Used it in my bedroom for a month so far. I'm just a normal person, so I don't really notice a big difference; just that I have less boogers in the morning lol

Air purifier
I haven't had this purifier long enough to give a good review. I do like it so far, I see the light indicator come on letting me know it is cleaning the air. So that is good!

Not what I expected
As a long-time owner of a Winix 5500 that has operated nearly 24/7 in my living room for many years without issue, I thought it was time to upgrade my bedroom air purifier to a Winix product as well. However, I'm pretty underwhelmed by the product. I'll hit you with the Pros and Cons if you're short on patience, but go into further details after if you're curious:PROS:- Competitively priced for the performance it provides and sq ft coverage it provides- 1-year filter life, cutting down on waste and costsCONS:- Bearing noise- Motor noise- Fan imbalance- No way to turn off the air quality indication light when the unit isn't in sleep modeDetails:Because my aforementioned Winix 5500 has been so reliable and whisper quiet for so many years, I was confident going into my purchase of this smaller Winix for my bedroom. However, after living with it for ~2 weeks now, I'm pretty underwhelmed by the unit in terms of quality and noise. The major problem I have is the fan inside the unit itself. Right off the bat, upon turning the unit on, you'll notice a moderately high-pitched scratching or scraping noise, which I can only describe as bearing noise. It sounds like the fan uses a ball-bearing setup, which is very robust and reliable, but results in the noise described above. Additionally, the motor that drives the fan hums. These noises are present at all speeds, regardless of Plasmawave being enabled or not, and only the motor noise fades off in sleep mode. I was actually so surprised by this medley of off-putting noise, especially because NONE of the reviews mentioned this, that I contacted Winix. After sending a video, they determined that the unit was defective. Upon receiving my replacement unit, I was disheartened to hear that this unit exhibits the same exact noises. It's not a defect, that's how this thing is designed. See an attached picture of the waterfall graph to see empirical evidence of these noises. The graph (purple in color, from bottom to top) starts with the unit being off. You'll notice as soon as I power the unit on, the high pitched noise appears around 2 KHz, and the motor noise around 500 and 600 Hz. You can also notice the intensity of said noise, most notably the motor noise, increasing as the fan speed does. The next jump is when I disable automatic fan speed and set it manually to Low, then another jump when it's set to medium.Additionally, you can also feel the fan moving within the unit when not in sleep mode, as if it's imbalanced. It's not a buzz, but a wobble. You can feel the entire fan wobbling around inside of the case.I live in a city and the white noise that fans and air purifiers provide help sleep through the hustle and bustle and sirens outside overnight. Sleep mode on this unit is very quiet which is nice, but too quiet for my needs. Because of this, I tend to never use sleep mode which means two things: Noise and the AQI light remaining lit all throughout the night. Fine, I can cover up the light, but then there's the noise. So, I have to run the fan at the medium setting so that the sound of the airflow drowns out the motor and bearing noise. The purifier does it's job of cleaning the air, it makes a noticeable difference in the air quality and smells fresh in my bedroom. Unfortunately, it doesn't live up to the standards I had for Winix based off of my experienced with their other units. At first I thought it was a QC issue, but it's actually just poor component choices and design. Hence the 3 stars. I won't be returning the unit, because I like the filtration performance and I can live through the noise it generates, but if you're looking for silent operation or a pleasant white noise machine, look elsewhere.
