I've had this brush & sauce pot for a couple of years. I've been filling and refilling without thinking to wash it after all this time (oh yeah, I'm embarrassed.) So imagine my shock that the oil was still clean tasting and useable! The pot/brush handle is moderately thick steel; the brush head is silicone and also moderately thick. In the presence of oil, the heavy weight of each forces a much better adherence between brush lid and container. I did, however, clean them in the dishwasher and they turned out very well. Caution: some dishwasher detergents have too much perfume which is not appropriate for flavoring food.I highly recommend Cuisinart CBP-116 Sauce Pot and Basting Brush Set!

This is exactly what I thought I wanted for basting when grilling. I've been using a bowl and long silicone basting brush. This cleans easy, and is very sturdy. Should work perfect except for one design flaw. If you are using it for smoking, probably won't have this problem. I've been using it on my Weber charcoal grill recently and because this handle is so short, you have to move very quickly on a very hot grill. It was almost impossible to use on my super hot grill the other day and lost all the hair on my hand.If you getting it for smoking, buy it. If you grill very hot items, get a long handle baster. Trust me.

Bought this about a year ago for my husband. This has performed so well. Easy to clean, just pop it in the dishwasher. The lid fits nicely and provides some protection from the grill/smoker heat as well as keeping the bugs out of the sauce. The brush is silicone and so far has held up great. Would recommend 100%.

Absolutely love this product. My husband used to use a small dish and a large brush, which ends up falling and making a mess. This is literally prefect. Easy to clean and store. Great buy
