OK I’ll be honest there are some positives and negatives with this blade. The positives are this is a real Damascus blade, the knife is well-made and it’s beautiful. The negatives are this is definitely going to require a tuneup before you give it to somebody as a gift. The edge on this knife looked like someone literally tried to sharpen it with a river rock. I would’ve preferred that it came with no edge on it rather than the jagged chipped edge it came with. It felt gritty out of the box and the action was very stiff. However, after cleaning it, re-beveling it and oiling it. It is a great knife. If you don’t have a knife sharpening kit, like a ‘Lansky’ or something similar and you’re planning on giving this is an immediate gift, I would suggest not purchasing it. If you’re willing to put in a half hour of work this is a very beautiful knife. I gave it four stars because the seller was great as well as the engraving and the knife was actually well-made with good materials.

Greatly suprised upon receipt. Every aspect of construction, workmanship, especially the very extremely harp Damascus Blade. For the price I didn't expect this quality workmanship. After removing the light coating of oil, it was ready for presentation as a gift. Received item within 5 days. Going to order more as gifts.Peter K

I bought this for a good friend of mine (it's not Christmas so I haven't given it yet :) ) I was so nervous of the quality and engraving.....I waited anxiously to arrive (which it did...early) and when I opened it......WOW! This knife is very sturdy, well made and absolutely beautiful! The engraving was perfect! It also came in a nice leather case! Great knife, would definitely gift again!

The craftsmanship is beautiful but the blade is very dull. The clip was more nice than l expected. I read a lot of similar reviews about the blade being dull and can contest to that as a fact. Quick shipping and response from seller. Would prefer to choose the letter on line instead of messaging seller. There were a few chips in the edge as well sharpening will remove them. Still satisfied thought and would suggest ordering one.

ordered one of these knifes liked it over all, it was covered in this mysterious grease though. after reading this is a protective oil that needs to be wiped off before use. Also to note almost all knifes will come slightly scratched since in the processes of engraving it will most likely be scratched.

This is a beautiful knife. The craftsmanship is what you would expect from a Damascus steel type knife. As others have already said, it is not sharpened, which is not a problem for me but might be for others. Excellent value for this type of piece.

My father (former military and current farmer) absolutely loves the knife. The seller was so kind when the original was stolen upon arrival, and courteously interacted with me to get it solved, as well as express shipping the replacement. I could not be happier.

Beautiful pocket knife with burl grips. Goals have polished and finished the burl to make it a bit better. Also, the Buck and Old Timer knives I've received were razor sharp when I got them. This one had a very good edge, but I had to hone it to cut arm hair before I would pluse it.
