Old Kingdom Trilogy Box Set Paperback – 5 Sept. 2005

What a great set of books! Bought them on a whim as I liked the look of the storyline and they had great Amazon reviews. The first book follows the story of Sabriel and the 2nd and 3rd books are set 20 years later and follow Lirial. One of the best reads I have had in a long time.

Didn't come with box, so they are loose but in good condition.Really enjoyed reading the books can't wait to get onto the next one.

Is shown as coming in a box (being a box set), I chose this over other options as from image the spine matched as well as coming a box. How surprised was I when inside the wrapping was a set of books, albeit being the right stories, they came with the covers mismatched and it came with a plastic band holding them together instead of a box. AS SHOWN ON THE IMAGE. The Old Kingdom trilogy is a smashing read. Darker than most fantasy this is a trilogy to really immerse oneself in. Sabriel is at boarding school until her father goes missing and she is forced to return to the land of her birth and assume the role of Abhorsen, guardian of the nine levels of death and warrior against the evil forces that lurk there. With free-magic an untameable peril that daily confronts the stability of the Old Kingdom Sabriel has her work cut out to develop the necessary skills to survive the onrushing cataclysm. Imagine Harry Potter cast into the wilderness and made to fight Voldemort without the safety and education of Hogwarts and his friends. This is stripped down magical fantasy, spectacularly characterised and awesomely exciting. Garth Nix is what children's fiction has being crying out for.

Very quick service.BUT!!! It's not a box set as advertised. Got 3 seperate books, different sizes and covers.When I contacted the company about this, they really weren't bothered. If you want a box set, do not buy this. Customer service is very poor. No appology just a "should have looked at the small print."

This is by far the best trilogy I have ever read, set in a magical world in which you can lose yourself for hours. I first read these books years ago, and many times since because they are just so amazing! I highly recommend Garth Nix, but especially this series, it's fantastic!

Great read, for teens and adults alike. A very deep story line with amazing characters and plots. Well worth a read if your into magic and necromancy themed books. The other books that are written before and after these are also very good and make up a great little library. You will get lost in them for hours.
