Preserved Farmhouse Lemons by Bella Cucina

These are expensive but I wanted to make Tunisian Chicken with Preserved Lemons and didn't want to wait a month to prepare my own lemons. There is no substitute for prepared lemons in the tagine and I like to add some finely chopped preserved lemons to the couscous. They are easy to make if you think of it a month before you want to cook your dinner. But these are perfect if you have no access to lemons to make your own or if you run out of preserved lemons and get a hankering for a recipe that calls for them. I appreciate they are just lemon, water, and salt without other additives that give some jars a peculiar taste. It's a small jar to be sure, but we are eating the leftovers today and I am not complaining when the dish is this delicious. The jar was nicely packaged and arrived in perfect condition.

I received this with anticipation of how good it would taste in a dish I was preparing for a dinner party. NOT HAPPY!! It was so nasty that I threw it out. I had my husband taste it just to be sure it wasn't just my taste buds and he agreed. Really very disappointed, was bitter and tasted like chemicals. Don't waste your money on this, make your own!

Worked very well in my recipe, but the fruit was VERY soft and hard to separate the peel from the pulp; it was all squished together.

These are very bitter , not as salty as other preserved lemons I have purchased (which provides the flavor kick), and the brine is viscous. I am disappointed, and wouldn't buy them again.

Very very expensive for the small size. It's a very cute but tiny little jar. It might be two lemons total sliced up, if that... it's probably worth the time for me to make my own preserved lemons. If you don't mind the price they are perfectly fine and tasty.

I've never used preserved lemons before and since my husband and I like to try new (for us) and exotic (again, for us) recipes, we found one that used these lemons. They had gotten good reviews and so I ordered this brand. They're wonderful, intense and yet subtle with that wonderful lemon taste. We made a wonderful duck dish and these absolutely enhanced the food. Very good quality and we plan to keep a jar around as a staple.

I’d never had preserved lemons before so I have no idea what they are supposed to taste like. But tasting preserved lemons from this jar, I am not a fan. After one tasting, the intents went in the trash. The jar was cute though. I kept that.

It's good. A real Mediterranean dish. Unique taste... Little lemons... From a lemon tree inside a cool jar... Inside my stomach... I want more. ;))goes well as a side dish with Falafel, roast beef, rice with legumes or veg. And just by itself. You got to trust a Mediterranean.
