I actually used these as a repair for an old REI tent (Quarter Dome 2) that was crushed by a curious bear in the Catskills of upstate NY (we weren't in it!). Amazingly, the tent fabric sustained no damage, and only some of the poles were broken. We limped along with the tent for a few more trips, using duct tape and a size 16 nail to rig up a sort of repair, but I finally just decided to buy these poles and wholesale replacement for one length of the poles. Of course, they weren't the precise length, and so I had to disassemble them, make a couple of cuts, and then reassemble, but it worked out just fine, despite the fact that these tubes are about 1mm thinner than the REI tent. (REI doesn't sell replacement parts for their old tents.) The strength is adequate - not outstanding, or else I'd probably give five stars.One thing , though, is that the end-piece on either side of the length, which is designed to press into the tent grommet is not pressed into the pole with a dimple, like most tent poles are, and so this means that when disassembling the tent, you may find that it pulls out. It's snap right back into place because of the elastic, but it can be slightly annoying. For my particular instance, it was actually a benefit, because I needed to completely take it apart and put it back to together, and the lack of this feature made that very easy. I suppose I could hit it with a thin punch to make my own dimple in it, but I didn't even bother. Anyway - not a bad set for the price.

Our old fiberglass poles on our Coleman 6-man became fragile and splintered. I debated whether to just get a new tent for $100+ or buy these replacement aluminum poles for $40. So happy I chose the replacements. They are super lightweight and fold up significantly smaller than the original fiberglass. It has added years of new life - and a more enjoyable experience - to what is otherwise a perfectly good tent. Just remember to buy some 3/8-inch grommets... you will need to convert the stake rings since these are male ends vs. the old poles were female. There are many variations of the straws, so you can always put one at your desk, one in your purse, one in the car and so on. It's not difficult to clean with the brushes provided. Recommended rinsing in hot water after use so you don't have to clean the straw after each use.

These are great! We broke one of our tent poles on our last camping trip and this was the solution. Folds nicely. Dimensions work perfectly. Very sturdy. I must say it was harder to find a replacement that fit our measurements than we anticipated until we found these on Amazon.

Used these to replace a broken pole on my Sierra Designs tent. Perfect match. Cannot tell the difference. And a great savings over brand . Two for half the price of one. Just make sure you measure correctly for replacement.

What is worse than having a great tent? Poles that are no longer useful.I highly recommend these poles. They are the prefect length and excellent quality.The seller is great too!

These a good poles but lack the hole in the end I needed for my Eureka Tetragon tabs. I may be able to modify them but they were supposed to fit that tent
