Q: What size is the receiver 2" or 2 1/2 "?

This is a 2 1/2". See the second picture.

Q: I have a 92 dodge w250 (cummins 4x4) with 2.5" receiver (class v). i have a light trailer and may get another. is there a recommended lift/drop size?

To keep the trailer level you have to check from the ground to trailer and truck to the ground or get a adjustable receiver. Each truck,not the same. Hope this helps I have 2500 HD and 8000 trailer and 2.5 drop and 2900 trailer that needs a 4" drop.

Probably not. Measure the opening of the receiver on the hitch. You most likely have a 2" receiver and this unit will not fit a 2" receiver.

Q: Can you tell me why the newer pick-ups have a bigger reciever so you must have that sleeve? I have never seen a hitch that big.

A larger receiver typically means a greater towing capacity which requires a larger, class V ball mount to tow heavy loads. You can sleeve it and use a 2" ball mount for towing lighter loads. Be careful not to overload your components.
