I'm Trying to Love Spiders Hardcover – Picture Book, July 7, 2015

Good book

This is one of my new favorite read alouds in my classroom. The students LOVED it! We used it to launch a spider into and opinion writing about spiders.

Such a great book to teach facts in a fun way!

Got this book for my 4year old. I feel it encourages kids to think its fun to squish spiders 🤦‍♀️

Knowledge is power. My daughter has been scared of spiders for as long as I can remember. Bought this book to help her learn about them and not be quite so afraid when she sees one. For a long time she would not touch the book, but would listen to me read it to her. She now will read it herself. And even better, when she sees a spider she comes and tells me calmly instead screaming hysterically and bursting into tears. Big win!

Totally love this book. It had me laughing out loud right along with my kids!

Son and wife arachnophobics. On her baby shower registry was this book. We are hopeful that the baby boy will not have the fear-of-spiders genes. It will be read often by the grandparents.

I got it for my daughter (6) as she’s afraid of spiders. It’s probably a better fit for younger kids and toddlers but she still thoroughly enjoys it. It’s a fun little book that’s engaging for the child and contains a few interesting facts about spiders. Certainly helped my child familiarise herself with spiders and therefore reducing fear.

My year 1 class likes this and learned facts from it. However, my 9 year old loved it even more. The humour was a little lost on a younger class so I would recommend this to anyone of primary age. Great book.

This book is really cute. It was a gift for someone who is scared of spiders and that was my way to convince her that they are friendly :)

I didn’t really like the story if I’m honest it didn’t do what I wanted it to which was yo persuade my daughter that spiders are little beings with feelings etc
