Signal strength at 80%, no internet.
This enables the computer to recognize as the connection is established and connected, I couldn't surf the web as it was not consistent and it would load for a minute and then stay disconnected. The signal strength was showing as it was good with 3 bars and above, but no go on the internet. In the end, this is not a good product. My modem was set may be 15ft away from this and it picked up the signal but didn't actually transfer datas. Wouldn't recommend.Update:So after writing this review I got a call from them saying they are sorry to hear it didn't work properly and since they think it's a defective item they will send me a replacement although I explained that I already returned my item. They insisted sending me a new one when I told them now I already have the wired setup going with 150ft ethernet cable around the wall. So they sent me a new one but since I already have a properly working connection I didn't use it. After 4-5 days I get another call from them and the lady wanted me to delete this review and she sounded upset when I said no. She kind of made it sound like I broke an agreement when I promised nothing and that she wasted her effort with this so that wasn't really nice. But they did send me a replacement so I'm adding a star to be fair.

I was pretty annoyed with myself and thinking that I would be ...
A couple of months ago. I spilled a cup of coffee into the keyboard of a new Windows 8 laptop and was absolutely distraught. It turned itself off straight away and I turned it upside-down to help drain the coffee and let it dry for several hours. When I came back to it, it took forever to boot, the slightest tremble made it force itself to restart, the trackpad no longer worked and neither did the internal wifi adapter. The wifi adapter was probably the thing I was worried about the most, because everything else could be worked around.A few days later, my keys were less sticky, the trackpad was fully functional and it took more than a nudge to cause it to restart. The only thing that was still a problem was the internal wifi adapter which would only work (or even identify as a device in the computer) every several restarts. I was pretty annoyed with myself and thinking that I would be stuck tying myself down with an ethernet cord. Then I came upon this little adapter.( Here's where my long-winded intro ends and my real review begins ;) )The day it arrived, I pulled it out of its packaging and popped it right into my already on and wifi-less laptop and BAM. It started picking up wifi signals from around the neighborhood and I was able to connect very easily to my own without installing the extra software included with the adapter. I did later install it, but I have no idea what to do with it and it doesn't seem to be making any difference in performance. The adapter is basically plug-and-play and has only asked me for my wifi password twice before my computer started remembering it again. It's very fast and picks up and holds connection strength pretty well all throughout my house without help of my wifi-booster. My only complaint about the device is that it is just a little too long to leave in the side of my laptop without it getting bumped and pushed out a little. If it were maybe a half a centimeter smaller I believe I would have less problems with that, but I don't think technology is quite there yet for the adapter to get that small so I'm not really complaining. My real concern is if it will be compatible and continue to work once Windows 10 rolls out.If I ever need to buy another wifi-adapter, I will more than likely buy one of these.**EditNevermind that, the stupid thing stopped working after a couple of months. No idea why.

Buy this one, don't waste time with others...
This is one of those times I'm compelled to write a review about a product. Why you may ask? It's because I was completely surprised at how good this little USB WiFi device was.Having dealt with 2 previous USB WiFi adapters (Panda Wireless and Edimax) and their terrible software/hardware, I was expecting the same terrible experience with the Bolse. However, after I installed the drivers and fired up the Speed test website, I was surprised to see that I was getting full advertised speeds. The 2 previous devices barely registered more than 10 Mbps down, but the Bolse tripled the output to 35-40 Mbps. This was on the same machine, same port, same everything. The range on this device is stellar too compared to the other 2. Being in the same room upstairs, I would barely get a signal. Now I can be in the back of the room and still comfortably surf the web with no internet slow down. And the cherry on top is the size. It is about half an inch smaller than the Panda, but bigger than the Edimax. However, even that is OK since the Panda WiFi adapter stuck out a whole inch which made it prone to get caught on the sides of things.I am so thrilled and surprised and happy with this purchase. I will definitely buy another one again.

Good product...could have better instructions
Would have given this a 5 star however the installation instructions were a little bit to be desired for my older Windows XP operating instructions. This could be more of a fault with Winidows than the item itself...however the instructions don't really help you trouble shoot issues when they arise When I first installed the micro wifi dongle my computer would not pick up the device. After several restarts it finally found the device but would not connect to my wifi router. After working on it for about a half an hour I realized that my DNS settings on my desk top would not release/reset and automatically reconfigure to the new (I recently changed my wifi router) DNS settings of my new router. After going into the settings and manually putting in the correct IP address, restarting the computer and logging into my router the Bolse mini dongle connected perfectly. Troubles aside the thing has been working flawlessly for the past month and it's nice not having to hardwire my old desktop to my router.
