A fine accompaniment to a storm!
I've long been a fan of Talisker's regular 10 year old offering, but this piqued my interest when it was on a lightning deal. I enjoy smoky whiskies and the idea of ramping up the smoke and sea salt flavours in homage to the stormy seas around the distillery sounded promising. I enjoyed this whisky immensely, providing a good competition to Johnnie Walker Double Black in the affordable smoky but still palatable stakes! As with all complex smoky whiskies this drinks best in the evening, in front of a roaring log fire, watching the wind and rain lash against your window!

A milder alternative to Laphroaig etc.
I like whisky with a hint of the sea but the likes of Lagavulin and Laphroaig (from Islay) are too powerful for me. They have too much seaweed (iodine), peat and sea salt for my palate. Talisker is an excellent alternative. It comes from Skye, the largest island of the Inner-Hebrides and being surrounded by the sea also carry some of the characteristics of Laphroaig etc., but are much less obvious, the seaweed, peat and sea air/salt are all present but are not 'in your face.' I bought this as a Lightening Deal for £20 which was a good price. At £27 - £30 (prices vary) the normal price is a wee bitty expensive hence only four stars.https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004RYE9IY?ref=emc_b_5_i

Delicious
This product is well presented & arrived promptly. Would work well as a gift. Helps deal with when narcissistic acquaintances bombard your social media streams with incomprehensibly obvious "inspirational" quotes from dead celebrities on top of a picture of the sea. Marilyn Monroe wasn't a philosopher.Anyway, this is a brilliant whiskey.Buy it.Add a couple of ice cubes.Enjoy it.Don't ruin it with Coca Cola.

Complex and complete
I'm always skeptical of no age statement whisky, but this one is a winner, if you like Jura, Highland park and Laphroaig, I'm sure you'll like this too. It has plenty of that iodine and brine, but some smokey peatiness in there. It's complex and one you can really sit down with and appreciate.

Thoroughly recommend this.
This lives up to its name, an absolute riot of flavour that hits you the instant it touches your lips. It's also remarkably smooth. Thoroughly recommend this.

Good but not as good as standard Talisker
It's a good whisky with a strong peat accent and a long finish. Heavier than the normal Talisker with a much longer finish, tastes sweeter and warmer with a lot of smoke and honey notes. To be honest though I don't like this as much as the standard Talisker and was very mildly disappointed with it.

Punchy
One to finish the night on!This is classic Talisker on the nose and initial taste, and then it explodes into a spicy, peppery festival of flavours after. It is very well named!I'm not a huge fan of the more peppery (taste of TCP) whiskies like Laphroaig, Lagavulin, etc. but somehow the Storm manages to tickle all the right taste buds and gently side step the wrong ones!
