Excellent Beginners Shave Brush
The Beau Brummell Shaving Brush is an absolute dream to shave with. Today was my first DE shave, and the brush performed pretty well with no experience on using a shave brush. I received the brush yesterday, and decided to follow a tip I'd found to help break in a brush. To remove the scent, fill up a bowl or cup with hot water and a few drops of dish soap. Let your brush soak in the dish soap for about five minutes, and rinse the brush out until no soap remains. This will also help knock out some loose hairs that are in the brush. Proceed to load your brush with shave soap and build up a lather in a bowl, mug, or on your hand. Once you have a nice shave lather built up in the brush, set the brush down next to your sink and let it stay there overnight. This method claims to help break in the brush by imparting the conditioning qualities of the lather to the brush. The next morning, rinse the brush out completely and it's ready to use. I followed the methods described, and still had some hairs coming out of the brush on my first shave today, but I suspect that is normal. The handle was easy to grip, even though I had shave lather covering most of it while I lathered up my face. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase and will continue to enjoy this great shaving brush.

Looks like a product of a good quality though
It is a gift for my Dad. I haven't given it to him yet. Looks like a product of a good quality though. The smell was strong for a couple of days, but now it is gone completely.I will post here again once Dad will have tried it.

Two and a half monthes of use & the brisles are shedding worse than the dogs coat.
I tried a brush set from Target to see if I liked the idea of shaving using a soap dish & brush. I bought this one thinking it was of good quality. I have used the brush since August this year. The bristles are coming out of the brush and leave enough in the soap cup, looking worse than the dogs bed. Shaving again today I have a great deal of bristles all over my face along with the lather. As far as I'm concerned, the cheaper Target brush worked better than this one. The cheep Target brush did leave some bristles on my face and in the cup, but not like this one does.

Not Bad
I continue to get badger hair stuck in my razor since it falls out while using the brush.Otherwise, for the price, this is a solid, black, traditional brush. Which is what I was looking for.

Sheds like a German Shepard
Updated review - after using for past year plus, it is starting to lose bristles like crazy. They end up in sink, on my face, in drain (hope it doesn't clog). I have never had a brush shed like this before so very disappointing. Otherwise, it is very durable and soft. I really enjoyed it at first but would think it would last longer. I have had other brushes last for years.Original ReviewSuper soft with minimal break in. I let it sit in hot water for about 10 minutes and by the 2nd shave, seemed very well broken in. I didn't notice any hairs falling out so well constructed. My old brush lasted several years but wood handle started to "blacken" from water and soften up so hoping that this handle will last a long time. Nicer quality of hair than my old brush and like the slight rounded shape of bristles. Very surprised by the quality for the price.

A fine shaving brush.
After pre-soaking the bristles of this brush for a few moments it's ready to use. The brush lathers up the shaving soap very well and gently foams it onto my face. I use circular motions to get the shaving soap from the brush under the bristles on my face. The brush maintains its shape when dry, is light yet sturdy, lathers well and feels good on the face.

Very nice shaving brush.
So far so good. This is my first shaving brush and seems like a good one. No excess shedding of bristles. Started losing bristles pretty badly after a month or so but then it stopped losing them. Loses very few now. OK brush.

Good quality product at a reasonable price.
I have only been using the Beau Brummell shaving brush for about a week, great value for the price. I'm just getting back to wet shaving after a long absence. This brush holds a good amount of moisture for working up a thick lather and does a very nice job of working the lather into my whiskers. It appears to be a good quality product at a reasonable price. What more can you ask? As with any natural shaving brush it takes a while to "break in", so I'm expecting the results will be even better over time.
