Five year old loves these
I purchased several of these and they are popular go-to books for bedtime. I'm trying to get him into chapters and try to limit them to two chapters a night. He doesn't mind repeats and we can talk about the word sounds as we go through multiple times. I'll buy more when he's reading himself.

Great book
My 8 year-old love Scooby Doo, and this is perfect for his summer read. It keep him read without my help and that is big.

Don't recommend
The gang in the Mystery Machine are going on a sea voyage aboard the "Ruby Princess" to take part in a fantasy high-seas pirate adventure cruise - complete with a hidden treasure hunt and an all-you-can-eat pirate feast. Little do they know it might turn out to be the real thing.I bought the three ebooks in this set to have in my Kindle library for someone under twelve to read. And since I have them I decided to read them first myself. Back in the day when Scooby-Doo first came on television it was one of my favorite Saturday morning cartoons. Mainly I think because it was a mystery series. So I figure I would check these stories out to see if they were as good as the television episodes. I have to say this third mystery is not as good as the first two - in my opinion. The main reason for that is Shaggy & Scooby are made to be overly scared. Sure they get scared at some part of the story in pretty much every episode, but in this book they start off scared at the beginning of the book and stay that way till the end. That to me throws off what could have been a pretty decent mystery story. I'm going to say I don't recommend this book because of that.I'm not sure how long this ebook is as it doesn't have page numbers (the other two books did). There are nine chapters. At the beginning of each chapter there is an illustration, and a few more scattered through-out the book. I read the book on my Kindle Keyboard so the images looked B/W to me. I later check them on my HP TouchPad and they are indeed B/W images, the cover art work is color. As with the other two ebooks, you get a ZoinksPoints code number, redeemable at the ZoinksPoints website.Scooby-Doo! This book is perfect for a 4th grader
Its hard to determine which books are an appropriate reading level for younger readers. My 8 year old in 2nd grade needed a mystery book to do a project on. I ordered this book that said it was 2nd grade level, but it was way to challenging for him. This book is perfect for a 4th grader. Great book, just a little too difficult and overwhelming for a 2nd grade reader.

Quite wordy - more suitable for older children
Story is fine, probably my own fault, but it's more wordy than I thought it would be - I had bought as a bedtime story for my 3 year old, and i'm bored by the time I finish reading it!!! Probably more suited for an older child.
