I. LOVE. This stuff. And I've tried them all.
My hairdresser has been yelling at me for years for washing my hair daily. He told me about dry shampoo, and that I should use it, but I just couldn't get the hang of it/get over the "feeling of clean" that I got from washing my hair every day. About three years ago, I chopped off all my (dead, dry, brittle) hair and started growing it again from my chin, and slowly started whittling down the number of times a week I washed my hair.My hair is now past my bra strap in the back, shiny, strong, and I wash my hair once every 5 - 7 days, and the ONLY reason is because of this stuff. I have fine, thick hair (meaning a lot of it, but the individual strands are fine) so the "bodyfying" effect in this stuff is great.I have very dark brown (but not black) hair. First I used Tresemme, Salon Grafix, BedHead, Big & Sexy, Suave (though I do LOVE their dry conditioner), the old school L'oreal stuff, the "Not Your Mother's" dry shampoo, cornstarch, baking soda, cocoa powder... but I keep coming back to this stuff. Here's why:1. The TINTED powder. For someone with dark hair, my beef with dry shampoo has always been the greyish whitish nasty dull residue that builds up in my roots that while my hair doesn't look greasy, does look like I rubbed ashes in my hair. This stuff, with the dark tint, absorbs the oil and keeps my hair the dark color it should be.2. It "poofs" things up. Like another reviewer, I'll sometimes use this in my clean hair, just a squirt at each temple, to add some extra oomph. But when I'm using it on days 2, 3, 5, whatever... it keeps my hair lifted (does that make sense?) and feeling fresh. Before, other dry shampoos would keep it from looking greasy, but I'd still lose the body after day 2, so I'd end up wearing my hair up after the second day. This stuff, I can get 4 or 5 days of down styles.3. The feeling. The cold "psssht" when you spray it on your scalp has a nice cool rush that helps your scalp feel clean, even if it isn't. I don't mind the smell, though some reviewers seem to.Tips:I wear a shower cap, and then when I'm out of the shower, I use a round brush and my blowdryer to quickly (we're talking 30 seconds) dry my roots where the water seeped under the cap when I washed my face. Then I use quick little blasts on my whole hairline around my face. This is enough for the next day after washing, but on days 2 or 3, I'll separate my hair into sections about 2" wide and spray there, focusing mainly on my natural part. Then I pull my hair back out of my face and WAIT. Don't brush it right away!I usually do my makeup, or get dressed, or make a cup of coffee, whatever, but let it sit for a minute. When I'm ready, I BRUSH it through my hair, not rub with my fingers. WARNING: This stuff DOES leave a dark powdery residue on fingers if you rub it in. It washes right off, it's never stained any of my clothing, but it is gross if you get it under your nails and then don't notice until later.I use a paddle brush to distribute it, "scrubbing" lightly, but not so hard to tangle my hair. I think this helps with the lift. Then I round brush style my hair and boom - clean, shiny, voluminous hair. Sometimes when I roundbrush my hair near the scalp, there will be little dark dusties from this stuff, but I just brush them off with a makeup brush.I actually love my hair on the second day more than the day I wash my hair now; it styles better and holds the style better. If you have long hair, I'd recommend a dry conditioner after the first couple of days, if you use a lot of heat styling like I do. Helps keep your ends hydrated.Bottom line, I love this stuff. I have long hair, and one can usually lasts me about a month. Not as cost effective as just washing your hair more, but for the time it saves me every day (washing my hair adds 45 minutes with washing, conditioning and blowdrying and styling to my morning routine), it's totally worth it. I even keep a can in my gym bag for post workout lifts, if I need them.

The BEST Dry Shampoo!
I have to say that Batiste is the BEST Dry Shampoo in my Opinion. I will not say that I have tried dozens, because I haven't, I have tried 3 different brands, and I fell in love with Batiste, no need to keep hunting!Let me start by saying that I have very fine, greasy/oily hair. I always heard people talk about not washing their hair everyday, and I thought they were gross haha! I just always assumed everyone had greasy hair. I started doing some research, because come on, the idea of not washing my hair meant not taking as long to get ready for work in the morning!I first tried Herbal Essensses Envy Dry Shampoo, and it was not a very good experience for me. I have dark brown hair, and that particular Dry Shampoo made my hair look like I get attacked by a bag of flour! Not to mention it felt so dry and stiff at the roots I could not even run my hands through my hair, I ended up putting it in a pony tail for the 2 days I used it. I guess this would be a good Dry Shampoo if you want to texture your hair because whatever way you do it, it stays that way all day!I didn't give up though, what works for some may not work for others has always been my philosophy, so next, after some research, I tried Rockaholic by Tigi. This is actually a dry shampoo that I still use and I actually do like it. I would recommend this one! It gets my hair feeling not oily, smelling good and not stiff. The only downside, and I think it may be a bottling issue, is that I've had some bottles that leave my hair a little grayish which makes it look dull. I'm not sure like I said if its the bottle or the product mix, because there are some that leave my hair looking exactly as brown as I have it.Enter Batiste, I ordered it out of curiosity because I saw a review online that said it was the best! I agree!!! Batiste has all the benefits that I find in the Rockaholic, except it has one extra plus I don't get from Rockaholic. It makes my hair feel sooooo soft and smooth, it feels like I just washed it. It smells very good too! I ordered the dark colored one and no white spots or grayish looking hair! This is a keeper for me!I think the problem with some people is that they do not know how to properly use dry shampoo. I was one of those, here is what I do. On days I don't wash, I spray my hair with the Dry Shampoo - On the Roots, with the bottle about a 1 ft to 1.5 ft from my head. Make sure to grab your hair and almost pull up, so that you expose the root areas. I then clip my hair up and get in the shower - I never brush my hair immediately after I spray it on. When I get out of the shower, I take my hair clip out and I massage my roots, to spread the dry shampoo then I brush my hair out and style it as wanted. That's it!So moral of this long review - If you want soft, shiny, like just washed feeling hair - Batiste is the best!!!

Works Great
My brown hair gets greasy easily. This product helps me make it through a third day without washing. The pleasant scent is mild.
