this 15 ft rod is the best surf rod I have ever used especially for the price. I have it loaded with 49 lb braid on a 1000 series reel and fish from the cliffs 30 feet up mostly dunking with it. it is by far the most sensitive tip and feels every bite from even eels that are only 8 inches long and the biggest I have taken is a 25 inch broomtail filefish. In Hawaii you need a variety of rods for different occasions and my next rod over 9 toot will be one in this particular series. Berrypro rods seem to be as strong as rods that sell for over $300 land I have had a ton of comments on it since I got it in July 2024. I use it at least 4 days every week for as much as 5 hours and have no complaint except with the large reel it is rather heavy but will cast more than 60 yards from a 30 foot cliff. I highly recommend if you are serious about fishing and like heavy action rods with a lot of sensitivity. Happy fishing!!!

Looks great. Ordered 2. One showed up broke.

I purchased the 9' 2 pc rod... great value, no defects. The rod is designed to catch 10 - 40 lb fish. I put a 4000 series reel with 30 lb braid on it, and with only a 1 oz lure... the medium weight fast tip casts really well. With a 10.2 oz 4000 series reel and long rod butt, it's very well balanced. The eyes on the rod are very nice. There's no reason a person couldn't fish Albacore, Amberjack, or Barracuda with this setup.

Recently purchased this rod which looked amazing for the price. I finally received it and decided to take it out for a spin Sadly it snapped on the first cast out. Efforts to secure a replacement of the broken segment was unsuccessful. I do not recommend purchasing this rod unless you're willing to risk giving away your money if it happens to be defective.UPDATE:Having reached out to the company directly (after receiving inadequate support from Amazon) they apologized for my experience with their product and facilitated a replacement. I finally got some time to go out and use it and I had no issues. The rod is sturdy built, has a pretty impressive bend when handing and very responsive to small nibbling fish. All in all I am satisfied with the replacement. My one recommendation to the company is to improve on its packaging as it is very easy for the rod to be damaged in transit with the paper padding.

Great surd rod!!

This is the 3rd time this year I have purchased this rod. The first one went back after two day's use because an eyelet glide broke off. The replacement has worked fine, I have used it several times. It performs well and I really like it - especially since it is inexpensive. I attributed the bad eyelet to chance, and I have recommended this rod to friends who have purchased it.The 3rd rod I ordered a couple weeks ago. It shipped to a friend's house in Florida where I was headed for a fishing trip. I unboxed the rod - the box was fine - perfect condition, removed the rod from the sleeve, and was astounded to see that about an 8" section of the rod (base end) was completely broken off. Of course I searched the box and the sleeve for the broken part ... nowhere to be found. So I had to go to a local tackle store where I dropped over $100 for another rod.When it comes unbroken, and when the eyelets stay intact, this is a good rod. But as they are 1 for 3, I can't recommend this one anymore.

I've got several berrypro surf rods and they all have worked awesome. Very light and strong. Have caught 20 plus pound reddish, jacks, and huge sting rays with no problem. Only surf rod i will ever buy.
