Must try for yourself!
I am in LOVE with this lotion! I am finally getting on board with not being paper white for the summer. I tried the whole tanning bed thing in my early 20's...when I was stupid! Sunless tanning is definitely the safest way to go, but I always worried about the results. So I've been pale, so pale...for YEARS! But who really wants blinding (and I do mean BLINDING) legs and arms in the summer? That use to be me, but never again! Honestly, I tried Loreal's Sublime Bronze first. It smelled horrendous, like burning skin for days (kind of an after tanning bed smell). It also left my ankles, elbows, and arm bends orange. Not to mention streaks galore, even though I rubbed it in VERY well. I decided to give this one a try though. Am I glad I did?! YES! It is amazing! In one application I could see a difference and with 2 applications I now look like I have a good starting base tan! No streaks, no orange spots, and best of all...NO STINKING SMELL!!! It has a nice light normal lotion smell. And yes, it is white when it comes out of the bottle. Maybe that helps the streaking, I don't know but it's WONDERFUL! I was not given this product for free for a review, I paid the great low price on here...but I would totally take some for free! New customer for life! My blinding legs are no longer! Thank you! :)

A smooth glow!
I am fair skinned and my legs refuse to tan. It makes me self-conscious to wear shorts or dresses because I'm so white, I look close to death. I have tried all kinds of self-tanners and just found myself frustrated by 1) their wretched stink (let's add odor to the list of insecurities) and 2) their inability to tan me instead of pumpkinize me. I tried NIVEA brand because I read some great reviews in a magazine. I already use Jergens for my face and this was number 2 on the list.Pros: The smell is rather sweet, like normal fragranced lotion. I really like the smell. The tan is also slight and gradual. That means no streaking or accidental globs that look like a nasty bruise. I apply this every day and it builds up to just a hint of color. I didn't want so much it looked fake, but rather just a little to remove the glare. This gives more of a golden glow rather than the dark, brown color. It goes on just like lotion and leaves my skin so soft. That is definitely a plus for me! I want to moisturize along with adding color.Cons: Sometimes I wish that it were just a tad darker. I like how slight the color is, but I wish that after so many days it was just a hit or shade darker. Although I like the smell, some may not.Even with wishing I could sometimes make it darker, it leaves my skin soft and glowing so I won't complain. If you are looking for a lotion AND a tanner, this is the one for you.

Best tanning lotion EVER!!!
This is the best tanning lotion ever! I use it every day, it makes my skin look tan and toned. Unlike other lotions this one doesn't have a tanning scent (maybe after years of using it I'm use to it? according to other reviews it smells??? I don't smell it), regardless in my book it is the best one ever! The lotion is not thick making it easy to apply evenly. However when you use it almost everyday as I do you may get blotches from not applying it smoothly. I shower in the morning apply it then, at night I shower again but don't apply it. I may go a day or two without applying (to conserve and not look made-up), still showering twice a day, the next tanning application I apply it thickly and the following days I apply a thinner coat. You will find a method that works for you, but after the first day of a thick application I get results immediately within an hour, my legs and arms look fit/muscular and beautifully tanned, my shoulders and collar bone glows, it works wonders.Side note: I Ordered two bottles since everywhere in my town is out...the secret is out I guess :( I hope they will never discontinue this lotion.

The best self-tanner I've tried
Okay so I'm pretty fair, and I've tried St. Tropez, Coola, L'Oréal tanning towels, Jergens, etc.Everything either makes me look yellow/orange or is too streaky. This product is amazing. It's very subtle, so if you're streaky with it you can just put another coat on the next day and it fixes right up. If you want a good tan you have to apply it for at least three days in a row but the color and coverage are worth it!! The smell is a light citrusy scent with a hint of the DHT that you smell in all self-tanners, but it's the most subtle I've smelled so far. I've even received compliments on the scent.I recommend applying with latex gloves and then buffing it in with a tanning mitt. I've found that's the best way to avoid orange palms and streaks. I ask someone else to do my back if possible. Not for you if you're looking for an instant tan. I can't find this in stores near me so I order it online. Worth it. Worth it. Worth it. Never buying anything else.

Not Powerful for Darkening
I'm a 1 or 2 on the skin shade scale (10 being born with dark Latin skin). Its unclear if this darkens my skin after occasional use for a month. At best it darkens me 10%. The good news is it seems to have good moisturizing power and won't leave any splotches. Harmless but modest results.

Didn't do the trick for me.
Nivea is one of only a few personal care brands I stay loyal to, so when I saw that they made a gradual tanning lotion, I was excited. I used it exactly as directed for just about 3 weeks, leading up to my wedding, and didn't notice any difference in my skin tone. However, true to form, the moisturizing effects of the lotion were just as good as the usual stuff.Maybe my skin and the tanning element in the lotion just don't go well together, because I read reviews by other people saying this stuff worked quite well. And, for what it's worth, this is probably the best-smelling (relatively speaking) tanning lotion I've encountered so far. Jergens is far too strong and floral. This is just a very subdued tanning scent - not nearly as overwhelming as others I've tried.
