Update in November 2016: this is still going strong! It doesn't charge my phone up as full as it once does on the second round (used to fully charge my galaxy s4 1.7 times, now does about 1.4).I'd give this a solid 4.5 stars but amazon only allows whole #s, so I'll go with 5. Going strong for 4 months now - hope it makes it past that 6 month failure point that others experienced.Great device! Love the lime green (to match my lime green trimmed otterbox case)! Charges my Samsung galaxy s4 battery almost twice (~1% of battery charge a minute) and also works to charge the galaxy note 8.0. Also worked for a friend's iphone (using their cable of course). I've also charged my arriva Leo bluetooth headset, ipod shuffle, and GPS.One thing I've noticed (but not tested to full certainty) is that when charging the s4, when my phone reaches 100%, if I don't unplug it, the Anker battery charge will continue to decrease quite quickly. It gets a little warm, but I'm not sure if that heat is enough to account for the amount discharged. Not tested but I thought I'd share.The light-up ring is *super* bright! I always have to turn it over at night. I thought I'd rather have a 'push to start' button at first but shake-to-start is nice - no place for dust/oils to get into (although I've never needed to shake it I think, the light always seems to be pulsing - even when left on a table for days).Will charge via computer USB port but is sloooow. If I use it during the day, I usually leave it to charge overnight via my phone charger. Good to go in the morning.I've fully charged it then left it in a bag for 3 weeks at a time without touching it (charge ring pulsing the entire time I'm sure) and the charge hasn't gone down at all.Included carry bag is a nice lightly padded, semi see-through mesh. It isn't big enough for anything more than the battery pack and the USB cable.The included USB cable isn't very spectacular. The ends look like they're been protected by a short length of heatshrink tubing. That tubing split after about 2 months (gentle use). It still works fine but the exposed inner wires (plastic sealed) gives off a 'dangerous' vibe/look - good if you're into that sort of thing.I fly a lot and it's *so* great for that! No problems with TSA, no jostling for outlet space at the terminal, and I can take all the pictures I want on a flight without worrying about how I'm going to contact my ride when I land.

I may have found a new love. Just to be clear, there are only a few companies out there that have true customer service + quality/reliability + product performance and while I'm a new user to Anker, I suspect they are one of them. Here's the fact about portable battery chargers: it's a device that I DON'T want to manage. In other words, it damn well better work every time, all the time until it's useful life is over. And while I've only had this for a few weeks (and it has worked great), here's why I think Anker might make my cut list for #1, go-to source for any peripheral need.1) High Reliability -- dug through a lot of reviews & web to be sure2) Customer Service -- check out their manual, reference card and website -- even their Power User / Beta Test program speaks more of early product change rather than 5-star review seaking3) Simplicity -- engineering perfection is NOT overloaded options, but RATHER ONLY what you need, EXACTLY when you need it.I'm expecting this device to last a long time and I'm looking forward to amazon searching anker for my next peripheral need.Update: I've been living now with a failure of the battery level indicator. It lasted about 1-year and now does not show how much is left -- blinks as if it is empty, but charges until it is out. Annoying but well outside warranty. Still a good device.

I use this all the time. Almost every day. It charges my phone really quickly, and I can usually get two to three good charges off of it, though I don't think I've ever tried it with a fully empty battery. With this, my battery pretty much never runs dead, and I never have to go hunting for an outlet. I'm a college student, so this has been so handy to have. I will even tuck this into my back pocket many times and just walk with it while it's charging, since it's so small. Not to mention, the power outlet in my bedroom is a little too far away for comfort to use my phone from my bed. Awful, I know.I spent a fair amount of time researching battery chargers before I bought this one, and it came well recommended, so I went for it, and it has lived up to the hype. I've had it for a while now and have not been disappointed. And, since it's USB, I've obviously been able to use it with other cables to charge other things, including other people's phones. I keep the charging cable for the battery pack in my purse, and that way I can charge it from my laptop, but I also have a wall plug attachment from came with something else that I use sometimes. I almost never need to use it away from home, though.

This works really well, I just don't like that there is no on and off button. Any movement turns it on and I am not sure if that lessens the ability to keep its charge. The little bag provided is nice but they could have added a little more space for the cord to fit in better. Overall works well but am not sure I would buy again because of the lack of an on/off switch.Update:We have had it less than a year and it no longer works. It will not charge at all. I tried it in several different sockets, USB ports and with different cables just to make sure. With that said though, the customer service I received when I contacted them was outstanding. I didn't know what to expect but heard back from them quickly after sending an email form their product website. I responded to their email and that I had tried various methods to see what the issue was and that it still did not work. The same day I received another email saying the replacement was on the way and not to worry about returning the nonfunctioning one. Hopefully this new one will work as I would like to continue working with this company because I certainly appreciate good customer service.

This is a great product. First off I like very the sleek design and the bright color. It does come with a mesh case, I'm not sure if that's written in the add. Everything about this thing is great. It gives you that power when you need it. Example, you work 14 hour days and phones now a days don't hold a decent charge. The little power indicator comes on whenever it moves in my bag and never comes on when I want it to unless I shake the crap out of it. I could just not shake it like my bag does. Who knows it's great though. Only reason why I didn't give it a 5 was Cuz I thought I would get more of a charge than it says. I figured it would charge your phone twice. It does give my phone a full charge once. Which is sufficient so I'm not worried. Maybe they do deserve the 5 star because it's output was my bad judgement of power. Who knows. Also, it charges the phone extremely fast, and it charges itself very fast. All and all a great product. I would definitely recommend.

Original review: 1 star.Beautiful color and design. Interesting idea to make it without any buttons. 1 star because it frequently stopped working even when new. Without warning, it would refuse to wake up until I plugged it into a charger for a second (even if it was previously fully charged). Now, less than 3 months since I bought it, it has stopped working completely.2014-9-19: Edit: Rating changed to 5 stars: I was contacted by Anker customer support. They offered to replace the unit free of charge by the end of the month. If the new unit works normally, I will be a very satisfied customer. It's nice to see a company stand behind it's product so completely. I would buy from them again.

This has been very handy! I really don't have an issue with losing power on my phone, but on a rare occasion I've been very low. I purchased this for more 'peace of mind'. I'm impressed with how long this holds a charge when not used... For months! That's important to me because I really don't use it often. I would hate to pull it out of the deep recesses of my purse to find it dead. I've had it about a year now, used it 2 or 3 times and I've only charged it twice.

I'm very happy with this portable battery. The package came as described in a neat little box, and the instructions were clear and concise. The carrying pouch is very useful and lets me keep the battery in the same pocket in my backpack as my keys without needing to worry about the battery getting scratched. The battery is super reliable and charges my iPhone 6 as quickly as plugging it into a wall outlet. A full charge of the battery charges my phone 2.5 times and has been very convenient because I try my best to only charge my phone when the battery is depleted. I've also used this to charge my Kindle and other electronic devices. Anker also sent me an email after I purchased this letting me know that they are available for assistance anytime, which I appreciated (though have not needed to use so far). I would absolutely recommend this to just about everyone.

I love the lime green color. I was under the impression it would have more of a matt finish, the only complaint is how slippery it is. Functionality-wise it works really well with my iphone 5s.
