Cat Loves 'em -- But I hate them!
NOT BAD IF YOU DON'T MIND PAYING NEARLY $150 A POUND FOR TUNA!!! I think they could put five times as much tuna in the giant jar and it shouldn't affect the price a bit because you'd still be paying the equivalent of $30 per pound! The cat loves them though and I guess that's the bottom line. But they stink! I made the mistake of touching them to pull them out of the bottle. I should have just sprinkled them out. Now my hands smell like tuna! But the cat LOVES them. And it's so good to see my 16-year-old cat really enjoy something and get so intense about it! It's like they took 10 years off her life! She's SO happy today!!WARNING: One word of warning though... don't put the bottle anywhere where you don't want the cat to go. The odor is quite strong and it leaks out of the bottle. In other words, the cat can smell the bottle from a mile away! Do NOT put it on a shelf, desk or counter if you don't want the cat to go there. They will do anything in their power to get close to the bottle!!I don't like my cat getting on my desk. And if I put the bottle on my desk that would instantly become her new favorite place.Oh, and one other thing... the cap was impossible to get off the first time. I had to actually take a knife and cut away at the little tabs that you have to break in order to open it. But after opening it the first time it's been fine.I gave it 4 stars because I hate the smell and because of the difficulty in getting the top opened initially. But it's definitely a 5 Star + for the cat! And that's what counts.

Not quite what me or my cats wanted...
I had read the other reviews stating that the picture showing the plastic jar wasn't what they'd received, so I was ready for that. I wasn't ready to receive a package of flakes that had mostly been mushed into little, tiny pieces. Not only were they all mushed into tiny pieces, but they stick to EVERYTHING they touch. If you feed your cat treats on the couch, they stick to the couch. Carpet is the same. It's difficult for our cats to be able to get all the tiny pieces off the couch fabric or carpet, so they end up leaving a bunch there. Except for our oldest cat. She won't touch them at all. I didn't rate it down because of her dislike, but because of the tiny pieces and the fact that they stick to everything.

Strange, But she Finally likes It
I gave it a 4 because my cat did not take to this at first. I almost thought I had bought it for nothing. Then I put it with her other treats and she started nibbling on it and now I gave her a handful this morning and she seemed to eat it all up. I think she will get used to it and like it better. Comes in a paper package, though, not the container shown here.

Neither cat cares for them... and packaging differs
First off, I thought I was buying a container with a screw on lid, such as the one in the photograph on this listing. What I received insteadwas a blue mylar-fused zip-top bag. Those are harder to seal and keep fresh,in my experience. Then the item itself. Sure, I read the reviews. At some point, food and treats arefood and treats, and you hope your cat will eat them. Well, count two cats here whocould not care less! I shook some out on the floor. Both looked at me like I hadlittered, and missed the trash can! There was cautious sniffing and walking away.I ended up having to vacuum it up off the floor later. Now, I know it is a myth that cats adore fish. It's a cute story, and the fish bonesare just so darned cute when the graphic artists draw things about cats. The truth is thatmost cats prefer some sort of poultry, and eat birds and mice - not fish. Few cats livein the water, and even fewer own fishing rods! ; ) They do not regularly attempt to eatfish. (They do, however, love trying to catch the small ones in aquariums, just like theywould like to catch any moving object.) My bad for not remembering that fish is at the bottomof a cat's food choice list. What a waste this purchase was!I can't recommend it at all. It was smelly, the cats ignored it,and I definitely did not appreciate getting a different item than was pictured.I wanted the one I thought I was buying based on the picture, not a substituted ziploc bag.Seller should notify buyers of the difference and offer to cancel the order.

This stuff is kitty crack!
My cat is an old fart at 16 years old so she doesn't get excited quite as often over things as she used to. She always enjoys regular treats but for Christmas I wanted to get her a variety of different more natural treats and these were one of them. She went off her rocker before I even had a chance to open them; she was licking around the seal of the closed plastic container! Watching her eat them is half the fun - I'll put some flakes on the floor and she acts like a vacuum cleaner, frantically pushing them around to try to inhale them but sometimes they get stuck to her chin or whiskers and she can't figure out what's going on. It's been a long time since I've seen her this animated over treats, and I never would have guessed it would have happened over fish flakes [they remind me of pieces of onion skin], so I'd say these are a winner in our house now!

Came in pouch
The picture alluded to the fact that it would come in a jar-like container, but it arrived in a resealable pouch, meaning the flakes eventually break up into tiny pieces, making it difficult to give to your cat as a treat.Other than that, these things work great for training a kitten! I can now walk him on a leash, get him to stand on his hind legs, and he comes camping with me. The have a strong odor and you can reward them with small bits, meaning you can train more without worrying about getting them fat...

This one wasn't as good to my cats as the other one i used ...
This one wasn't as good to my cats as the other one i used to get. They really loved the organic one in the package - but this one they sort of snubbed... might be just their preference - but I can't get them to eat these - they like the packaged one though.. i don't know what the different is.

My cat is a bit finicky.
After reading about how other's cat's loved these bonito flakes I purchased some for mine. She turned her nose up and walked away. Cie la Vie! I leave a 3 star because it's not the fault of the the manufacturer, or seller, but I also ended up spending money to give it away.
