Entertaining from Start to Finish
I bought this on a whim, and I’m glad that I did. Once I started reading it, I was glued to it until the end.I was very interested to hear Bobbie’s side of the story regarding many things, especially her extensive time spent as a prolific groupie/model/actress in the midst of hair metal bands in Hollywood, especially dating very many men in that very unusual and superficial scene. It was a guilty pleasure for me to hear about all of her star encounters and the men that she dated. Not knowing her, and even despite all her trials and tribulations, I find myself attracted to her and all the fun of the lifestyle. Naturally, the good times can’t last forever and the good ‘ol days for everyone indulging in excess must eventually come to an end.I was aware before reading that she had dated Tommy Lee and married Jani Lane. I’m very familiar with her being the “cherry pie” girl. I gather from this that there is hardly any loyalty at all between the men in this music genre. I also take from it and believe that Tommy Lee and Vince Neil are immensely insecure cheese balls. I take from it that Jani Lane was a good person who sadly struggled perilously with alcohol addiction. It’s mind boggling how insecure these guys are. They seem so unsure of themselves that they make me feel better about myself. I mean, get real, dudes…but I digress.I have always felt there was something off with Pamela Anderson, and Bobbie has me believing her account, that Pamela was a self absorbed jerk.I thought that Bobbie’s account of many things was amazingly bold and honest. She spoke of all her exploits including her drug use very openly which I respect very much. It takes courage to speak of things so honestly. This book wouldn’t have been nearly as interesting if she hid the truth about many things. For many years, having long been a fan of Warrant, I wondered cluelessly about Jani Lane and I’d have to say that this is the most thorough account that I’ve ever gotten about the man’s struggles. I have a feeling that he’s probably the best artist that she ever dated. I’ll always miss the guy and I’m glad she spoke about him so openly. I liked hearing her talk about their child together and even her openness about not being the best mother that she could have. Again, very honest.I was almost brought to tears seeing a picture of Jani Lane with his small daughter, especially being a father to my own small daughter. I wish that guy had beaten his demons. Whatever “secret” he might have revealed to Bobbie wouldn’t matter to me. Stuff happens and I couldn’t think less of him no matter what it was specifically nor depending on who the perpetrator was. The man was an exceptional songwriter, and an especially exceptional balladeer.Bobbie confirmed something for me that I have long since suspected, which was that lots of the hair metal band guys are as shallow and as vapid as can be, with the exception of very few. I went into this already suspecting that Tommy Lee is a big shallow child which she seemingly confirmed, so nothing in her stories about him surprised me, but I got a kick out of hearing all of it. That insecure dude took her for a long selfish ride.I was particularly interested in this reading being a fan of the hair metal scene in general, especially Motley Crue and Warrant. It was also cool to hear about the “nice” Nelson brother that she dated, yet another cry baby hair metal band guy taking his blessings for granted. These stories epitomize the shallow place that hollywood and the entertainment industry no doubt are. This book was well written and easy to follow. I really enjoyed it and anyone who was a serious fan of the metal scene of the late 80s and 90s will possibly enjoy it.I’m glad she’s sober now. I know from experience that sobriety is not easy to come by after giving into way too much chemical fun and experimentation. I wish she had gotten straight early on and she might have done much better in sustaining her career. She blew off numerous opportunities which she readily admits to(which takes guts and character to say). Nonetheless, Bobbie’s stories delivered the goods for me. Now I have nothing to read and I’m bored. This was worth the money and the time to read. Five stars from me!

Love Bobbie, and love this book!
To begin, I want to say that I am saddened by the many reviewers who have written so many horrid things about Bobbie. I met her about 20 years ago, and she was very sweet, goofy, and funny. Like, really funny - stand-up comedy caliber. And yes, crude...kinda like the "bathroom humor" genre. Curses like a sailor and talks a mile a minute. But...she is who she is, calls it like she sees it (whether you agree with her or not), and she is the first to laugh at herself. I adored her, and we have kept in touch over the years. She is lovely, inside and out. Truly. Anyway; now about the book...The book is exactly what the description indicates - she dishes on her life of debauchery in the late 80s and 90s when she was part of the Los Angeles rock & roll and celebrity scene. She was a hard-core addict, slept around, neglected her daughter, and made a LOT of other bad choices. She doesn't deny this, and doesn't try to come across as an innocent victim - she was both a victim and a predator. She knows she was a crazy B who was used by others and used others in return. No topic is taboo. That's what makes the book so great. So, if you are offended by her sordid tales of yore, why did you buy the book? That's what the book is about! What else were you expecting? Yes, she often behaved very badly, and was often rude and arrogant. She admits this! She has come a long way since those days. Her second book provides a lot more introspection. Whether you want to believe it or not, Bobbie is actually very intelligent and has a heart of gold. This didn't come across during her glory days when she was a drugged out sex object who was trying to do whatever it took to achieve her goal (stardom and land a rockstar boyfriend/husband). She was in a haze and went about things in all the wrong ways, blinded by her ambitions. She has learned from her experiences and is living a healthy and productive life at the moment. Her (and Jani's) daughter, Taylar, is a bright and productive young lady (college graduate with honors), and they have a great relationship. Were you expecting Bobbie to become a nun or something? Give her a break. And yes, people - Bobbie CAN write, and also uses big words, complete with correct spelling and grammar! I know this, because I exchange emails with her. The ghost writer helped, but it isn't like Bobbie is incapable of forming a coherent sentence and only uses words with fewer than three syllables. Wow, people can be so mean.If you are a fan of the L.A. scene during (and after) the hair metal era and aren't easily grossed out/offended, this is the book for you!

Entertaining and full of the private parts of 90s rock stars
This book made me feel a little sad. Bobbie managed to blow some great opportunities. Her rivalry with Pamela Anderson is discussed in some detail as is her marriage to Jani Lane and her relationship with Tommy Lee. Some rocker boys are indeed dirty, but some are lovely, like with any group of people. It’s an entertaining story for the most part but some of it is hard to read and feels like you’re just watching her make the same mistakes over and over again and watching her take her experiences out on innocent chumps. Her solid Mom is a redeeming feature of the story and Bobbie concludes that family and friends are most important to her.

Good read!
Really good read, kept me interested and I liked her brutal honesty throughout the book. She talks a lot about famous actors and rockstars and shares a few shocking stories. As an avid rock fan, it was interesting to me when she talked about certain bands and she paints a good picture of the backstage groupie lifestyle. Good read, just not for the easily offended - loads of sex, drugs and rock n roll!!

Waste of a beautiful woman
Read this book by lunch time the day after receiving it. It’s very truthful if you want to know the dirt on celebs like tommy lee, Leonardo DiCaprio, etc. Makes me crave for the 80’s scene again. Makes me feel old. A good read though

Brilliant read, captivating, couldn't put down - rock and roll history that's real !
An honest, funny and sometimes sad account of a time in rock and roll history which I lived through in posters, magazines, MTV and dancing at Rock City, on the other side of the world - wondering what was actually going on in the life of all my rock star heroes. It is so well written and so interesting. Couldn't put it down. I hope Bobbie writes another.
