Whistle while you work
That’s a beautiful lumber rack I can handle a lot of weight. But if you want to piece And quiet then this lumber rack’s not for you. It whistles in harms going down the road and the faster you go the louder gets the other big problem I’ve got is starting to rust already got finished on it does not stay worth a darn which I’m really sad because I really like this lumber rack

Good value.
Instructions are a little lackluster, but what do you expect with China. Shipping took more than expected. One box showed up literally the next day, the other followed a week later. Keeping two boxes at the same warehouse is a little hard.Thing is great, proportions could be just a little better. Had crazy wind noise until I wrapped a piece of rope around the front bar.

Excellent product. Tricky to assemble. Some additional steps needed to prevent rust.
I've seen comments where people complain about the instructions, so I've scanned them for you. It's true that the bags of nuts and bolts are not labeled, but you can work out what's what from the parts count and a ruler or calipers. This ladder rack is powder-coated on the outside. I've seen complaints of rust stains on the vehicle caused by water getting inside the tubes where there is no powder coating. If you seal the joints and bolt holes with black RTV silicon and/or heat-shrink tubing during the assembly, that should prevent the internal rust and staining problem. DO NOT seal the joints until you are 100% certain of the assembly.Take the time to read the instructions and watch some assembly videos well before you start. When people talk about the assembly taking 6-7 hours, it's likely because they did something wrong and had to take sections apart and start again. Nylock nuts are most effective when they are only fully tightened once, so only assemble the rack finger-tight until you are 100% certain that everything is correct. The bolts that set the angle of the legs should only be fully tightened once the rack is on the truck and visually aligned to the bed and the cab.I think the assembly for short (5.5') and medium (6.5') beds are the same but the front "legs" must be positioned and assembled differently for long (8') beds. This is easy enough to do if you catch it in time, but a major pain if you don't.Value for money: Even if you own a welder, there is no way you could purchase the raw materials to build this ladder rack yourself without it costing considerably more. Yes, there are some compromises to make this rack "universal", but I think they are reasonable.

Plan to make some modifications.
First: This is Not a one size fits all rack as the seller claims. If you don't have a 6'+ bed don't waste your time unless you just like the look, just need parts to work with, and have the ability to modify this to your liking. Also, if your bed has a lining that doesn't allow access to the lip around the bed; again, don't waste your time. You'll need to make significant modifications to components to get this to fit, and drilling will be involved counter to the sellers claim.Second: This is not a well built rack on the manufactures side. The powder coating was coming off when it arrived. I've had this rack for a little over a month and there are areas that are already visibly covered in rust. Additionally the connecting "I"'s in the frame were not welded adequately, and there was a good bit of weld splatter around weld areas that should have been ground off before powder coating. Something that while trivial speaks to the workmanship that goes into a product like this.I would not recommend putting 1000 lbs of anything on this rack. The hardware as others have noted arrives in bulk bags unlabeled but is easy enough to distinguish given the instructions sent. They managed to sent the wrong size lock washers and the wrong number of lock washers but these are easy to find a a hardware store. The locknuts are the cheapest they could find to ship and I suspect the bolts aren't too far off. Once you tighten this thing down for fit don't plan on loosing it for removal or adjustment unless you want to buy all new hardware.Third: This is not an easy to remove rack as the seller claims. Unless you put this on your truck Without any changes to the way it was sent. Meaning you put it together; set it on your bed, put the 8 j hooks in place and secured it to your bed;, consider it a permanent fixture. If you have a smaller truck expect the rack to sit significantly higher than your cab. Again you'll need to make modifications to the legs to get it down to a more reasonable height. It's on my truck and I'm going to use it but I won't be buying from this company again, and I won't recommend them to others.

Excellent Purchase - very useful
I was impressed at the robustness of this Pipe Rack - it has come in handy so many times! It was fairly straightforward in setting up, but there is no way it can be done solo. I've had this for over a year, and it has been an awesome acquisition.

Noise
It took two knowledgeable people 6-hour to assemble. You are only given a poor quality black and white diagram to work from along with directions. None of the parts are labeled. A video shows 4-men placing the rack on the trunk...yes.you need 4 people. Both box's were single layer of cardboard. Each box weighs approximately 50 lbs. Both boxes had the ends blown out. The bolt bag was missing pieces. The rack makes a waffling noise when you drive. Any trip longer then 10 miles.will drive you insane. The rack itself is very sturdy and of good quality.

Great for the cost
The rack is to carry kayaks and it seems very sturdy. Looks nice also. We do get a little humming noise while traveling.
