Sad to do the first review! One star is too much! I bought the item finding the advertise on Youtube and reading some reviews in some publications! Unfortunately I didn't read the comments on Amazon.com (USA) where many one stars as well. So, today I received the item. Nice design (except the plastic screws for the batteries box, purely stupid invention!). Following the instructions, first I removed the batteries Energizer (four) from inside for 30 seconds. I replaced them and I pushed the on button. Brilliant light! Amazing! Wow! But just 2 minutes than the lantern switched off. I tried to replace the batteries in the others 4 free places of the batteries room. Pointless. I installed other 4 new batteries. Brilliant, amazing bright light! I was very happy. For just 20 seconds. Off again. I removed the batteries and I double checked its with an electronic voltage and ampermeter device. Looks to be OK! I tried other 3 sets of batteries, the same thing. So, I decided to ask for refunding and maybe Energizer will read this post.

Doesn't work reliably at full brightness
Shuts down at high output after very little battery drain. This means you have to switch it on and hold the button to let the dimmer begin to take the level down to a lower level. It then works fine.
