Sportmix Wholesomes Extra Large Grain Free Dog Treats, 20 Lb.

I'm very disappointed in the quality of my shipment. I read reviews of broken biscuits so I ordered one box and happily saw that at least 2/3 of the box was complete biscuits. I ordered the 20 lb. X-Large size because my big dogs like a big biscuit and it keeps them busy for few more moments than small biscuits. I had purchased Old Mother Hubbard in the past but when her price almost doubled in one month I looked for another good quality large biscuit. I ordered 2 more boxes of the SPORTMiX. They arrived together in one box with just one piece of heavy paper for packing material. The boxes were banged up and they rattled and a stream of biscuit dust streamed from the box seams when I picked them up. Not a good sign. Out of 2 boxes I got 33 full or almost full-size biscuits and a cup of biscuit "dust". All the rest were pieces half biscuit size and smaller. Do I have to look for another source of big biscuits? Do I really want to go to Milk Bones? If I wanted small biscuits there are many other sources for them and they are a lot cheaper. Even the SPORTMiX regular biscuits are considerably cheaper. I wanted a big biscuit and I got mostly tiny chunks. This is one of the very few Amazon purchases that I am not happy with.

I ordered two boxes of these bones for my commercial kennel. I chose the Sportmix products because I was assured by their customer service rep (who responded to my inquiry within the hour) that the ingredients and manufacturing are US-based. I do not purchase foreign pet food ingredients - particularly China-made pet products. I am thoroughly happy with the apparent palatability of the bones. The dogs fall over each other to get one. I am a little dissatisfied with the condition of many of the bones - about 20% of them are broken due to packaging. They are not stacked - just loosely placed in the box to be knocked around during delivery. This is the only thing I can fault, though. Otherwise, a fair priced, quality, USA MADE product.

As the title states, the actual product was as advertised. Our two large dogs loved the treats, without reservation. We have had two boxes of biscuits and both became infected with flies and larvae. If the insects came from our house, the product should have come with a self-sealed bag. Once you open the box, anything flying or crawling can get into the product. I'll assume that the larvae did not come with the delivery. I read another review that spoke about insects, took my chances and lost.

Generally the dog biscuits are great if not such a high percentage would be broken. The point in buying extra large biscuits is the "extra large", small pieces miss the reason for buying theme in the first place. There has to be a better way to pack the biscuits better than this.

The only reason I give this a 4 star rating is that the breakage in the shipping process. I don't know what could be done about that as the bones are dry, but maybe the company could put some kind of "filler" inside the bisquit box to take up the extra room so the bones don't shift so much in the process. Otherwise, been buying these bones for years -my dog looks forward to them every morning!

Mostly broken bones this time. Very disappointed! It's our third box and the first on to come in such bad condition. I'm hoping it's just a fluke, bad handling during shipping, as we really like this product. I will order again, but if I receive the product as damaged as I did this time, I won't continue to buy these...

I have a larger dog, so want to give him extra large biscuits. Stores that did offer the size have gradually removed them from the shelves, so I had to turn to the Internet. The big problem is that travelling through the mail leaves many of the biscuits in pieces. I decided to give sport mix a try and am glad I did. The protection of a box seems to help. I am not very deep into my purchase, but have noticed fewer fragmented pieces already. Hope this continues and I will be back for more!

These are the best dog biscuits on the market in my opinion. We've tried many, our dogs have anyway. We just buy them! This is a great company. They do free shipping which is huge for us. Hope they won't stop after reading my review. I share these with all the dogs I run into and even the picky ones will eat these. They are very big so the little dogs you have to break them up some. Would highly recommend if your dog doesn't already have a favorite.
