How many inches is the opening of the large basket

I did not purchase the large. I purchased the medium and the medium opening is 10.63 inches and if you check the amazon site the opening of the large is 12.63 inches. I am happy with my purchase.

Can you put a live potted plant in it without damaging the basket

You can put a live plant into a container and place a saucer under it. Use the seagrass plant basket as the decorative container. The baskets is well made, yet with earth, water and a growing plant, it would likely fall apart after a while.

How big basket for 6ft olive tree?

I ended up returning this item because I felt it was too flimsy and looked small for my 6 foot olive tree. I found a great basket for my tree at TJMAXX / HomeGoods and the price was comparable.

What are the dimensions of the large basket? You give dimensions only for small size when large is selected.
