Good value, nice scratch project or replacement blade
Well packaged. I nicked my finger on the point getting it out of the box, so much for sharpness. This is Chinese, no doubt lacking sandwich Japanese soft core and harder outside forging method; but it is very nicely finished with all the features of the real thing. There is a faint Damascus pattern, and it is nicely polished. It has a nice fitting habaki. It is long and heavy. It is a great DIY project. I have an antique tsuba and have started lacewood tsuka and saya. Later I may try a traditional tsuka with ray skin and learn the wrapping method with all the appointments, with a laquered saya. I have bought several moderate quality katana, made in Japan, with blades of lesser appearance length, and weight.

Tsukamaki!
Tried to order it without the bo-hi, but didn't really mind that it had one, once I got it. No hamon is better than faux hamon; and the damascus pattern compensates for it.Go ahead. Customize your own sword.
