But I Wanted a Pony!: An Anne Taintor Motherhood Collection

I bought this book for my step-sister and her husband, who are about to become first-time parents. When it arrived, my husband and I thumbed through the pages and were literally crying with laughter. We have 2 girls, a toddler and a middle-schooler. The silliness, along with some slipped-in truth, is genius. In our day-to-day repetition of making meals, changing diapers, kissing boo-boos, calming down blow-out tantrums, and surviving on 3 cups of coffee and the last slightly-warm french fries in leftover Happy Meals, this book was a perfect gift of levity. It may be the type of gift that takes a few months of parenting before it summons that guffaw of nose-snorting cackling, but I'm sure even novice parents will appreciate its handiwork! Anne Taintor, you rock!

These Anne Taintor adult comic books are hilarious! I liked them so much that I purchased some extras for gifts. Just have to read a couple to start smiling/laughing.

A very cute, funny and entertaining book for all moms! I bought three to give to friends for Christmas.

I'm soon expecting and got this book for the laughs. It's fun for a quick sit down. If you're pregnant or have little kids, fatigued and want a short funny read with your coffee give it a whirl. It would also make a fun little gift.

Humor is very subjective so you'll either love this or you won't, there probably isn't much in between. Being a fan of Anne Taintor, I was not disappointed and had a good laugh. This compilation has a family and motherhood theme. As with any collection, there are some entries that have been used elsewhere before and some I have not seen before.

I got this for my mom for mother's day as a gag gift, she absolutely LOVED it. As my mom is older, she said it reminded her of actual ads growing up and she appreciated the new spin on everything from her childhood. Very funny book, entertaining to visitors left on a coffee table, or revisited occasionally for a laugh on a bad day.
