Small is sufficient for 9 year old girls
I thought the loops were medal but they're plastic. It's tricky to get the straps from the shin guards through the knee savers' loops but I suppose this is a good thing so when the shin guards are removed from the catcher's legs, the pads don't fall out easily. The pads themselves seem sturdy and I hope it lasts until my daughter outgrows it. Bought her the small size and she is 9. The other catchers on her team use this and they all think it's more comfortable.

Extreme comfort for the position
I got these for my 8 year old daughter and she loves them !! She said she no longer feels like her feet go numb from being in a catcher position. The knee saver help her obtains correct position as well. Super easy to put on and easy to clean as well

Works great!
I noticed comments stating it did not fit certain gear. We were at a loss for how to attach them at first. You have to undo the loops on the other end of the hooks/clasps and rethread them through. It’s a little time consuming but once they’re on they should be good to go. We used Easton gear with the knee savers though.

Comfortable but not practical
My son loves being able to sit on these when catching but most of the time they just get in the way of playing. He is constantly readjusting them and tripping over them.

The best for your knees
These have help my daughters knees soo much. Without these- I think she would have given up as catcher on the first day.
