GREAT cheese to pull out at the last minute!
Pasta, veggie salads, special soups and other dishes requiring your classic grated Parmesan or similar cheese appear frequently for a last-minute lunch, dinner or snack at our house, but all too frequently there's no more fresh Parmesan left in the fridge. (You'd think I'd get used to checking first before preparing such a dish, wouldn't you? alas, no...) This wonderful DeLallo Grated Romano solves my problem. Because it's shelf-stable, I can order a case for the pantry and then just pull out an 8-oz jar whenever needed. When having to depend on pre-grated cheese, I'll frequently choose Romano, which has a little more bite than Parmesan, and this one doesn't disappoint. Wonderful, nearly fresh flavor! My husband, who has little patience for my quest for decent cheese and will just leave it off if we don't have any, was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful this was and used up nearly half a jar himself on his spaghetti and meatballs the other night (do remember to refrigerate any leftover cheese in the jar once you open it). I can't tell you what a relief it is not to worry about having Parmesan on hand any more!! Will definitely be ordering more.

Yummy
This cooks up very well. I think it is better in the food and not sprinkled on top, but that's just me. It's worth it to use the subscribe and save program with this. It cakes some but I live in a very humid area so I guess it's to be expected. Good value too.

This cheese contains corn flour as a filler
It was very disappointing to read the ingredients and find that this cheese contains CORN FLOUR, which is a filler. Even grated cheese in supermarkets like Kraft label clearly "No Fillers". So does the Safeway brand. The thought of an Italian cheese having corn flour in it as a filler is repugnant to me, and is a rip off. Grated cheese should be 100% grated cheese. The label says that the corn flour is used to prevent caking. This is not true. Cellulose is used as an anti caking ingredient. Corn flour is a filler. This cheese tasted like saw dust to me and Amazon's excellent customer service gave me a full credit because I was so disappoined. Don't be fooled by the Italian name. Kraft grated cheese is 100% cheese and in a pinch is just fine and obviously sold in any supermarket.

I was promised goat cheese
I was promised goat cheese and in reading the ingredients, found cow milk.A disappointment as I had promised to make my nursing daughter a special lagagne.

The stock sent to me expires in 3 months.
I'm thinking that for a hard cheese to expire in 3 months perhaps means that it had been on the shelf for some time. While it tastes okay except for the dustiness of the dry cereal corn, it's not anything like fresh grated; but to be fair, I did not expect a fresh-grated taste. I knew beforehand that I was purchasing a product for convenience over fresher taste, but the 3 months' expiration is curious. There really is no way for me to use all 4 containers within 3 months; I do wish that the seller would have disclosed the upcoming expiration lot before deciding to ship to me not knowing if I could use all that before a (relatively speaking) fast-approaching expiration. I'm thinking that it might be time to stop purchasing food items over Amazon as we have experienced other issues with food items sold from Amazon vendors e.g., old caked peanut butter, dented cans, non-disclosure of artificial flavorings, and otherwise unsaleable items on the normal retail market it seems.

DeLallo Romano Cheese
Romano cheese is impossible to find at the local grocery stores. They have a Kraft Parmesan and Romano blend, but no straight Romano. Romano is my cheese of choice on Pasta dishes. DeLallo is very good, however the freshness seal under the cap is not applied very well. It's always very easy to remove, too easy.

Good Romano Cheese
Grated Romano cheese has become so difficult to find in my area that, once again, I turned to Amazon to save the day. This brand is a bit more salty and somewhat less "full" flavored than the Kraft Romano which I'm used to, but it's nonetheless tangy and delicious. If I'm still unable to find a grated Romano locally by the time I polish off this case of DeLallo, I'll be happy to buy it again from Amazon.

Delicious
I love sprinkling this on pasta with sauce, pasta in butter, or just plain pasta. Excellent product at a fair price.
