What does the 2/6 mean? Is this the trickle or battery maintenance mode info?

Yes you are correct, except this is also the desulfating mode if needed. It automatically begins desulfating if it is needed. GREEN light when done and 'Maintaining' means all is good. RED light = failure to desulfate. Bad battery. LOVE it. I tried charging a battery I neglected many times for a couple years about 5-6 times on the 100A boost mode and 30 amp mode and the battery would not go higher than 11.9V. In other words, I would have gone and bought a new battery because this one would not charge. Was charging with the cables disconnected so it could not be draining to a short. Did the 62 Charge and it saved my patootie! Connected the cables and started right up instead of chattering click-click-click-click. This saved me over $200 for a 'bad battery'. That's why I bought it, and it worked. First time for me, and it is really cool.

Does this charger have a desulfation mode on it?

What is the difference between this model (sc1281) and the more expensive model sc1308? descriptions appear to be the same?

The SC1281 will charge STD/AGM/GEL batteries and the SC1308 will charge STD and AGM
