I thought that Hagoromo had gone out of business. Is this their chalk or a knock-off?

That is slightly complicated. The original company went out of business, yes, but some of the machines and the method used in their manufacture were sold to Sejongmall, the company I believe is selling this based on the promotions available. They now sell a similar chalk, in my experience, under the Hagoromo name. So it is their chalk recipe and process done by a new company and it is a close facsimile. The answer to your question depends on how you interpret that.

Is the 72-count only white chalk no longer sold?

From time to time, they will run out of white. I spoke with Sejongmall about this, and they say it's a normal artifact of demand spiking, plus having to ship everything from Korea. If you ever see it missing (I've seen the white no longer listed before), then just wait a couple days.
