Amazing book! Amazing scientist and philosopher
Amazing book! Amazing scientist and philosopher! There are great scientists, great mystics, and great philosophers! Are there anyone who connects all three on a scholarly level? Fritjof Capra is one such person, thorough in mysticism, philosophy and his chosen Physics with extraordinary ability to draw parallels and connect all three! He takes the reader through classical physics, modern physics, and Eastern religious mysticism and philosophy and points out the interrelations between them! This is not a book a serious reader can read in a day or two; this book requires in depth study and one tends go back and read it again and again. The Zen and the Art of Motorcycle maintenance by Robert Pirsig is one such book, where the author explained the limitations of modern science and the character Phaedrus' journey of seeking to find the reality! In this book Capra takes the reader into the world of sub-atomic particles and connects it to Eastern mysticism where rationality takes the back seat. A must read for all those with scientific interest with a philosophical bend!

Good structure, layperson language, Invaluable insights.
The book is in good condition with decent printing for its price.I'm halfway through the book and it has kept me intrigued. Anyone seeking the collectivr knowledge of western cultures of the Vedanta, Bhudhism, Taoism, and how they contribute to the understanding of the nature of everything, must read it.

Beyond words
It's a bit weird writing a review of this classic.Because it takes words. The concepts that this books addresses are not the purview of intellect. A language is just not equipped to describe the phenomena of consciousness and intuition. And that is precisely the point that binds ancient mysticism and modern physics. This is not an easy read by any means. It take a bit of background in science and definitely a lot of interest in spirituality, mysticism sans dogmatic religiousness.Extremely rewarding experience for those willing to truly explore depths of the universe, consciousness and philosophy.

To know the difference between science and mysticism
The author beautifully narrates the rational part of research would be useless if it is not complemented by intuition that gives scientists new insights and makes them creative. The thought provoking statement of the book to me is though mystics analyse and interpret their personal mystical experience without caring science it is equivalent to empirical. The book seems to be worth to buy.
