Do you ned thick paper to use these pens? Do they bleed on certain kinds of paper?

No, so far Ive used them on many kinds of surfaces including normal drawing paper. it didn't bleed

How long do they last?

These are permanent based marker pens. Should last for a couple of years if there is no wear and tear.
